This seems like an odd question I know but I have been thinking there are probably so many theoretical hobbies that nobody has actually done before.

Polo, except with jeeps firing .50 caliber machine guns. You have a metal ball about the size of a truck tire and a field about 2 miles long.
cassiacow [she/they] ( @cassiacow@beehaw.org ) 7•11 days agoThat sounds… terrifying. I’m not sure I could even spectate.
plactagonic ( @plactagonic@sopuli.xyz ) 6•12 days agoMore like really niche “sub-hobby” of homebrewing.
Growing/propagating your own yeasts. I did it about year ago and didn’t have a time to get in to it again.
Closest thing I have ever done to that is Brewing Kombucha.
plactagonic ( @plactagonic@sopuli.xyz ) 5•12 days agoIt is more sterile and intentional proces. But yeah at the end you end up with petri dish or tube with little dots that make beer/wine/kombucha or something else.
NarendraCzar ( @covert_czar@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 5•12 days agoSound a pebble dropping in water Splashh…
So like skipping a pebble across water but without having to worry about damaging coral or sea life because you can drop it in a safe area instead of the rock landing someone where further out in the lake or pond potentially hurting any ducks/water birds. It also has a lower skill requirement so that is a bonus.
