Maps based on the fictional universe of video games, with locations, points of interest, etc.

DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 8•4 months agoLet’s play “guess the Ubisoft game”:
jan75 ( @jan75@lemmy.ml ) 3•4 months agoOh i like to play, Far Cry 6?
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 3•4 months agoNot quite. Take a closer look at the icons.
Crotaro ( @Crotaro@beehaw.org ) 4•4 months agoThe bottom left icons on the island makes me think it’s set in the Assassins Creed universe. Since I have only played Black Flag, I’m pretty sure it’s not from there.
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 4•4 months agoCorrect. It’s the one game in the series that pushed Xbox One and PS4 a bit too far, but has, for the same reason, aged rather nicely.
darkmogool ( @darkmogool@feddit.org ) Deutsch2•4 months agoLooks like AC Unity
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 3•4 months agoI had given up all hope, but we have a winner nine days late!
It’s what I was looking for. Interactive maps of video game universes!
dmention7 ( @dmention7@lemm.ee ) English5•4 months agoThat’s a dope resource thanks!
stardust ( @stardust@lemmy.ca ) English4•4 months agoBrilliant resource! Thank you for sharing it.
jherazob ( @jherazob@beehaw.org ) English2•4 months agoWow, this is great! Thanks!
thingsiplay ( @thingsiplay@beehaw.org ) 8•4 months ago- interactive 3D maps: https://noclip.website/ (Edit: Note this site does not work for me anymore, but seem to work for others. It could be my browser Firefox or an addon, I have no idea.)
- overview maps for all kind of systems: https://vgmaps.com/
- SNES games, various overworld or stage maps: https://www.snesmaps.com/
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 1•4 months agoNoclip works, just remove the double tilde from your link.
thingsiplay ( @thingsiplay@beehaw.org ) 2•4 months agoThe double tilde was an attempt to
strike throughthe text. For me site does not work. I mean the site itself works, but nothing when I click and load a scenery. Can you load a map and use it interactively?Edit: Oh, looks like my browser or its configuration does not work, maybe a plugin or Firefox itself: https://noclip.website/?webgpu
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 2•4 months agoFirefox works, on Windows and Android. Seems like you misconfigured it in some way.
thingsiplay ( @thingsiplay@beehaw.org ) 1•4 months agoI’m on Linux. No clue what is needed, because the error message is not specific enough. I have created an issue on the Github page. Hopefully this can be resolved.
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 1•4 months agoCould be a DRM issue. Maybe this site is using some sort of DRM that’s not working on Linux, similar to streaming sites. I’m just speculating however. Have you tried a fresh install of Firefox instead of your current configuration?
thingsiplay ( @thingsiplay@beehaw.org ) 1•4 months agoI tested this with a fresh Firefox profile, which is basically like a new installation without any customization. So looks like its not because of my personal customization or addons. Same results. On my old machine I remember using this website and I could navigate through the levels. But that’s 2 years ago or so, don’t remember.
Just had the genius idea to look in the Browser console and this is the message:
14:23:43.794 NotFoundError: No such JSProcessActor ‘BrowserToolboxDevToolsProcess’ 3
ulterno ( @ulterno@programming.dev ) English1•4 months agoIs this guard supposed to be slacking off on the job?
It works on Firefox EndeavourOS

Corroded ( @CorrodedCranium@leminal.space ) English2•5 months agoScraper can grab video game maps and manuals automatically as part of it’s process if you want them for older games.
DdCno1 ( @DdCno1@beehaw.org ) 1•4 months agoDo you mean Skraper?
