I know America has very relaxed advertising laws, but is using the Office of the President (and the White House) to promote a private enterprise legal?
PerogiBoi ( @PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca ) 18•16 days agoThe US has recently ruled that the president is allowed to break any and all laws if they feel it’s good for the country.
Trump feels that promoting Tesla vehicles is good for the country, so he is promoting their sale to American citizens. The same way that Trump felt it was a matter of national importance to advertise Goya canned foods during his last reign.
Americans are a deeply unserious people.

BestBouclettes ( @BestBouclettes@jlai.lu ) 3•16 days agoAs legal as promoting beans and pillows!
