I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in the left column. When those expectations are brought up, I generally quit.
millie ( @millie@beehaw.org ) English16•7 days agoDo you have some context for this? What is it from?
Whoever wrote it seems like they’re looking for sheep, and are trying to cast anyone who isn’t helplessly servile as manipulative.
Vodulas [they/them] ( @Vodulas@beehaw.org ) 10•7 days agoYeah, I am also confused by the context. Both colums can be desirable traits/skills depending in the job. None of them mean someone is a “rule bending narcissist.”
VitoRobles ( @VitoRobles@lemmy.today ) English10•7 days agoYeah this is fishy.
Because I’ve applied to jobs that were like, “If you can’t perform mental calculus while riding a unicycle, then you’re unfit” and then you’re in the interview and the manager goes, “Yeah sorry the application was written by the fuckwits in HR. They don’t know shit about what we do.”
haverholm ( @haverholm@kbin.earth ) 6•7 days agoThe title is a bit of a leap, and not really supported in the image. Without any context, you’re just posting two columns of job ad jargon 🤷 And the column headings are iffy at best. Being “process-oriented” would be rule bending in some fields, whereas “tactical and persuasive” communication might be completely within expectations in others.
As for the narcissistic element, that’s only referenced in your title as (apparently) synonymous with the “rule-bending” column that you say you identify more with 🤔 Sorry, that’s the kind of speculation you open up for when you leave interpretation up to a reader.
