Taking my cousin to the airport shortly. He going to Queensland to start setting himself up.

It’s been great having him here. Didn’t get to spend as much time with him as I would have liked, but I’ll be going up to see him when I can.

I hate spam calls so I never answer unknown numbers. I’d rather someone leave a voicemail if they are legit, than me answering every random number.

    lil rant

D’ya ever sit down ready for the day and the first two things that jump out of the internet / work notifications just gut punch you? Not normal end of the world stuff, like people you thought were collaborators shouting things in direct competition to you…and being wrong…or things you thought were done six months ago that slipped through…like the world is rolling and you can’t keep up?

I feel so far behind on everything

    …coffee, sun, reset,.stay off linked in… remember it’s baby steps…

Feel a bit bad that I didn’t realise the Lamarre-Condon trial started on Monday. But I cannot believe what I am reading as his defence, and what the prosecutor is alleging actually happened. Those boys must have been so scared.

Who in their right mind could possibly believe he was acting in ‘self defence’?

So this pig stalks his ex, pretends to be an Uber driver, breaks in and kills both his ex and new bf? And he and his lawyers want to claim self-defence‽

How does breaking in to someone else’s property and killing them constitute self-defence? Riddle me that, Batman.

What a piece of shit human, but unsurprising he’s a copper imo. One of the few professions someone could have where I wouldn’t date or even be friends with them.

If he’s instructed his legal team to run this defence they don’t have a choice! (I appreciate the interrobang.)

r/auslaw has some funny snarky takes on this. I have also learnt there that life without parole is a sentence open to the judge. Let’s hope so.

It’s unfortunate bad people gravitate to positions where they can use power to exploit or even hurt others.

We need better testing of applicants to weed out the bad ones.

          Story Side Quest

Back in my retails day we had a Loss Prevention officer who was kinda crazy, would basically be frothing at the mouth at the idea of catching a “bad guy” in the store. It was embarrassing watching her stalk people around the store and there was a rumour she failed the psychological testing to become a police officer.

Jokes on her though because it turned out her work bestie had been stealing for YEARS before she was caught by someone else.

she failed the psychological testing to become a police officer.

I understand that this is not that unusual. The army and navy too will happily boot out people that they think have an unhealthy relationship with unsupervised power. At least our army/navy, can’t speak for other nations’ ones. Doesn’t stop some nasty behaviour to women, but armies everywhere have always had severe difficulty coping with the ghastly prospect that women might be good soldiers.

That and some of their male soldiers don’t care what consent is, and they see a person with some holes and tits and think it’s theirs for the taking. Doesn’t matter if that person is on their side or not, they got holes they can put their dick in.

There’s a lot of problems with the army/navy, but women aren’t one of them imo lol

The more I read about this case, the more utterly insane it is in the most awful of ways. He has the right to be innocent until proven guilty, but oh my god. Tbh it’s not as fascinating at the Erin Patterson case because the motive seems so so obvious, but I’m still going to follow along because I want to learn the outcome and I’m a nosey little bitch.

Made it back down the beach for the final weed push before a lotta mulch moving.

What I’ve noticed down here over the years catching the bus from / to g-town is all the gen z say thanks to the driver. Very few have their phones playing music, and very quietly spoken. None of them touch on though 🙃 and the driver doesn’t give two shits. It’s basically a no questions asked free bus service (Mcharrys), which is how it should be.

Night and day compared to melbs PT. Same could be said for vline. Conductor hardly checks, and if you don’t have a valid ticket they don’t give two shits either. Never seen anyone booted off it’s just the vulture inspectors on trams really.

I think PT should cost much less. Still need some user contribution but it should be cheaper than driving. We want to encourage PT use. I dont care if people dont pay, but I wonder if people not touching on means they don’t get counted, and the patronage on the route looks artificially low. Leading to lower frequencies and less route expansions.

PTV bus drivers don’t give a shit either lol, I think I remember some years back they got shitty that they were expected to check tickets and boot people off, so they’re not required to do that anymore. Those power hungry officers sometimes check though, especially on school days/peak times.

Trams depends on the day and school terms. When school terms are on, generally you see the failed pigs try to catch students at peak times. But taking the tram away from a school/uni, you see way less, if none.

Trains are a bit harder to fare evade as some stations have those gates and officers, but some don’t, so if you know the stations you can get off a stop or two early at a station with no gates, and either walk or catch a tram/bus.

Source: been fare evading since HS lol

I’ve noticed a lot of young gen z aren’t tapping on since it became free for teens to use PT. They’re probably like, why, it’s not like it’s deducting anything.

    Tonight’s wave:

Was sitting there gearing up (or down) to jump in. Had a really friendly dog (labradoodle) rock up, sit on me (after it’d already jumped in itself) and shake itself down.

    Doggo did that on purpose.

love that breed / cross, no water boundaries.
