When I compared you to Tate and other manfluencers, I was comparing your energy to his, as well as I was comparing your drive to create division.
America is in a pretty dark place right now. We can only make incremental changes until a enough of us our ready to make revolutionary changes - otherwise, those changes would have been made. There’s only enough energy for us to fight our battles. And only so much any one person can do.
Ultimately, I’d like to see a global community where everyone is thriving, and no one’s labor is being exploited. We get there together. I’m not sure what country you’re in, but I’ve seen a lot shifting right in recent years, subtly and incrementally. If you’re in one of those countries, I hope you fight back against it sooner than we did (or will).
You’re comparing misogynist/transmisogynist energy to that of a feminists & trans allies? Again, make it make sense.
I was comparing your drive to create division.
What I & others are trying to do is educate & agitate for real change, not to sheepdog people back to bourgeois democracy as the end-all be-all, nor to vote Blue no matter who[1], which we know won’t work. We didn’t get women’s suffrage or the forty hour work week through the ballot box, but through militant action, through strike action.
We get there together.
We don’t actually, at least not all at the same time. Some states will get there sooner than others. The imperial core, where you & I live, certainly won’t be the vanguard for change, in fact they’re the biggest obstacle.
Previously: Unless you live in a swing state, it costs nothing to vote left of genocide. There is no downside, and it may make the Democratic party sweat enough to move slightly left. The party isn’t going to move left if they know you’ll always vote blue no matter who: all that does is make you a reliable and politically irrelevant punching bag.↩︎
I’ve genuinely never seen that kind of behavior from leftists in the US.
At the end of the day, all of us want to make the world we live in a bit better. And things can improve, especially if we build community.
But you’re giving the same energy as Andrew Tate and other manfluencers.
Probably because you’d only ever seen patriotic socialist before joining Lemmy, and not international, anti-imperialist socialists.
Make this make sense. Andrew Tate is even more America first than patsocs are, while we reject imperial core patriotism altogether.
