A “massive overreach” to simply ask if you’re a bot because you’re a prolific poster? Seems a little ridiculous to me. At best it could be perceived as suspicious or annoying.
There are tons of obviously-bot accounts reposting shit like crazy, and while I appreciate having content on the threadiverse, having thoughtless trash content is much much worse than having limited content.
