People have hated our product next to steam for years. We’ve never had an interface people like, we’ve never had features. Our competitor has a product that people love and want to use, we’ve given away hundreds of free games just so people will use our software and they won’t, what can make people want it.
Oh I know. 5 seconds of loading time once a day… and all the good will that bragging about it being vibe coded gets… that’s going to really get people excited to switch.
I hate Steam and I don’t want to use it. The only reason I tolerate it is because Valve is the “less bad” kind of corporation.
Yes, in my opinion from a technical standpoint Steam sucks, but that’s about it. It’s not stealing your data, their support is decent, they are not gatekeeping developers from listing the games on their platform, etc, etc.
Even if Epic Games developed the best launcher known to humanity, I still wouldn’t use it. The problem is not the implementation of the launcher, the problem is Epic Games being evil with their business practices together with too many other similar corporations.
