As a white I’ma name my cat coleslaw now.
My mother named our old cat Cacerolo, which means “cooking pot” in Spanish.
I’ve known many a cat named after “western” (or whatever) food. Friend of mine has one named Burger right now. There’s one on c/cats named Broccoli Cheddar.
Personally I use human names.
Oh my babies are Meatloaf, Milk, and Mashed Potatoes. One of them is gay and the other two are just flexible.
Oh, wait, cats?
This is my cat, California Club Sandwich.
I live in Japan where tons of pets are named ‘mame’ which means ‘bean’. Pretty sure I’ve heard miso as well.
Coleslaw is a perfectly cromulent cat name.
Food names are cute on pets regardless of origin! I would totally name a cat “Butter” or “Paprika” or something.
Used to work at an animal shelter. We had a cat named Patty have four kittens, so naturally I named them Lettuce, Pickles, Onion, and Bun. Every once in a while I’m tickled by the fact that I got away with naming a cat Lettuce
Your were only 2 away from a Big Mac. Cheese would work, but I’m not sure about a kitten named Special Sauce.
“Letti” or “Letty” would be such a cute nickname for Lettuce :3
There’s a Scotty-Chihuahua puppy who’s a regular at the local dog park here, and named “Snack Pack”. He’s the most adorable li’l goober! 🥰🥹😱
Snack Pack?! It’s perfection, no notes. Super cute!
He gets all excited whenever he sees one of his favorite people or dogs, and does this joyous, silly head roll + neck whip + with his li’l tongue to the side and grinning. He’s ~2 handfulls big. My heart could explode from the cute. 🤣🥰
Had a dog named Butters. He was adopted as a senior and couldn’t hear well so it didn’t matter what we called him. We just kept the name he had.
I can’t find his pic right now. I think I’d have to reboot into Windows to find it.
My friend’s cat was named Bagel, very strong and handsome guy
My grandmother had a beagle named Bagel
I’ve got a cute pair of Siamese mixes named Alfredo and Toast. Toast’s points are darker and Alfredo is super silky. And then there’s the orange Cornish Rex named Jugemu Jugemu Go-Kō-no-Surikire Kaijari-suigyo no Suigyō-matsu Unrai-matsu Fūrai-matsu Kū-Neru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakōji no Burakōji Paipo Paipo Paipo no Shūringan Shūringan no Gūrindai Gūrindai no Ponpokopii no Ponpokonā no Chōkyūmei no Chōsuke or just Paipo for short. It’s a mouthful but not of food.
Just saying that name out loud pings a dozen operators in Hell.
Just don’t let him get near water.
I’m trying to think of a food that would be a bad cat name and I can’t.
Ketchup, Balogna, Frittata, Beans, even Worcestershire. These are all acceptable.
Might even name my next cat Broth. Who could even stop me?
Taco the cat!
Almost…
TacoCat
Just last night we started calling our cats Crabcake and Cheddar Bay Biscuit. It started as simply mishearing what one of our kids said (heard crabby cakes instead of the normal paddycakes [a further nickname from Padfoot]) and ballooned from there. So now our cats are Red Lobster representatives.
If I ever get a dachshund I’m calling it “Selsig”, which is Welsh for “sausage”.
I named one Ginger but fuck that asshole. He wants to sit on my bladder at 5:00 a.m.
I’m pretty sure it’s a war crime
I’ve had five cats, and stayed at friends houses with more. I can assure you that’s just standard cat operating procedure. The groans let them know you’re still alive and going to feed them
Butter dog: it’s the dog with the butter
Pepper, ginger, cookie.
In France: but Casserole??! (it only means pan, like the sauce pan)
ITT: Lots of people’s security questions.
And nobody paying the pet tax
Here ya go! Her name is Poundcake

Not a lemon pound cake so she is safe from the police
Assorted Poundcake
My cats are Bangers and Mash.
I’m torn between Biscuit and Gravy, or Chicken and Waffle if I ever get two pets.
I had two fish named Peanut and Butter. You could start small.
The squirrels in my yard are now Spaghetti and Meatball.
I’ve actually seen the ones in our yard steal pizza and meatballs from the neighbour when they’ve gone inside leaving a plate unattended. I think mine are too now that you say that.
“Unseasoned chicken breast and rice! C’mere boy! Unseasoned chicken breast and rice! Parboily! Spiceless! C’mere” shakes treat bag
Cat named “beans” cat named “toast”
This person has never met white people if they don’t think we already name our pets after white food too.
e: Also never met other asians if they’ve never met an asian cat owner who named their cat mochi.
Diagnosis: Terminally online shut-in.
I think ‘Emergency Rations’ is a perfectly acceptable name for a cat.

The ongoing joke about Paimon being emergency food will never not be funny.
My ex named her two cats Pork and Beans
A Caucasian/Korean couple I know named their dog Kimchi, which brings me a lot of joy.
