Tes 6 was announced 8 years ago.
In that time, they’ve finally given it a name.
Give it another 20 years and we might see a cinematic trailer that doesn’t contain in game footage.
I am not excited to explore Hammerfell. I don’t think I’m going to like this one.
I would have been excited for Elder Scrolls: Elsweyr and see all the different tribes of Khajiit. Or Elder Scrolls: Summerset Isle and play as a mage in the Psijic Order where you time travel to key times and places in Tamriel’s history to avert disasters through the ages.
No we get afro pirates.
FML
Yes, but they’ve got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
In morrowind it was completely normal to be surounded by dunmer, they are humanoid and just have darker skin and red eyes.
Oblivion was mostly imperials, so you’re sounded by regular humans.
Skyrim was mostly nords, so human majority again.
A video game going back to redguard would be normal humans again.
Going to khajiit or argonian places makes it a furry game and it’s too big of a title now do be super weird like morrowind again.
Sentinel.
Then there’s a quote from some queen of Hammerfell. Didn’t people predict it would be in Hammerfell?
all the way back when it was first teased, yeah. There’s also been several leaks over the years that all indicated 6 would be set in Hammerfell, so it’s not like a big shock. Might be interesting going back through some of those leaks now though.
We had Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion Skyrim, and Sentinel?
Why? Does Sentinel have some lore meaning I’m too normie to remember?
Edit: I love that the comments are dragging this “reveal.”
Sentinel is a Redguard city in Hammerfell.
the kingdom of Sentinel in Hammerfell?
Ah, see. As someone not in the know, it made no sense.
I wonder why it’s not Hammerfell, though. Isn’t this kingdom a much smaller area than say, Skyrim?Likely just that the kingdom will have great importance to the story, like how Oblivion wasn’t named Cyrodill but instead after the Oblivion Crisis the game depicts.
The games really never had a consistent naming scheme. Morrowind and Skyrim are provinces, Oblivion is a plane, Daggerfall is a kingdom within High Rock, and Arena is…a metaphor for the state of the world, I think?
Arena was supposed to be an arena like combat game. They kept the name after the pivot. And, yes, they incorporated the idea of the metaphor into the final game.
