It used to be Yoshi and Toad because I like light characters. Their acceleration allows them to recover more quickly from hazards. Which in mind makes them more consistent for me.

My son and I play Mario kart 8, so it’s up to him usually 🤷 but I tend to be Luigi 9 times out of 10, he loves Luigi. Otherwise backup is Mario.

My go-to is toad…he’s just so light, makes drifting and handling so much easier.
Although he’s not in this list, Shy Guy. I played a lot of the DS Mario Karts, and he was usually my go to. Not really sure why, I guess I just liked his design.
