I myself am 100ish hours into AC Odyssey on the Steam Deck, looking forward to getting stabby on some malakas!

Where are my ToTK folks ?
- thedeserter ( @thedeserter@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) English11•1 year ago
I’ve been playing Grim dawn for a while. Just finished getting to lvl 96 on a spellbinder. As much as I’d like to try Diablo 4, $70 is just too steep at the moment. Maybe when it goes on sale
- PanaX ( @PanaX@lemmy.ml ) English6•1 year ago
GD fills that Diablo need pretty darn well. I enjoy it more than Diablo 1-3, at any rate.
- Chailles ( @Chailles@lemmy.world ) English4•1 year ago
And if the need comes, I’m pretty sure Grim Dawn has a mod that’s just Diablo 2 anyways.
- falcon ( @falcon@beehaw.org ) English11•1 year ago
Making my way through Witcher 3 but I keep getting distracted by gwent.
- Kory ( @Kory@lemmy.ml ) English5•1 year ago
No no no, that’s no distraction, that’s the main part of the game :D
- kiithwarrior ( @kiithwarrior@beehaw.org ) English5•1 year ago
Agreed, they put a game around the card game, that kept getting in the way!
- boerbiet ( @boerbiet@feddit.nl ) English10•1 year ago
Trying to finish my first full Darkest Dungeon run since starting in 2016. I never started the final DD level but completed everything else, but I feel I can’t start Darkest Dungeon II before completing the campaign in the first game.
That and probably some more Cities: Skylines 🙂
- CaptManiac ( @CaptManiac@lemmy.sdf.org ) English2•1 year ago
I really really wanted to like Darkest Dungeon, but either I really suck at it or there’s just too much grinding for me. I’ve gone through about 30 in-game weeks and haven’t really gotten anywhere.
- boerbiet ( @boerbiet@feddit.nl ) English2•1 year ago
It is a big grind, yes. If that’s not your cup of tea I don’t think you’ll ever grow fond of it. There’s also alot of randomness that at times feels very unfair. But for some reason, it appeals to me 🙂.
Part two is not as long, or so I read, but you still have to grind to unlock characters and skills, apparently.
- setsneedtofeed ( @setsneedtofeed@beehaw.org ) English10•1 year ago
Fallout 1 with a 1-Intelligence character. I’m, somehow, succeeding.
- ghashul ( @ghashul@feddit.dk ) English2•1 year ago
That is so much fun. Fallout 1 was one of those games that just blew my mind when it came out, and it’s still one of my favourites.
- deegeese ( @deegeese@sopuli.xyz ) English2•1 year ago
Have you tried FO2? I liked it better than the first.
- setsneedtofeed ( @setsneedtofeed@beehaw.org ) English2•1 year ago
I may have played it a time or two.
I enjoy the tone and tightness of the first game’s story much more. I enjoy the second game’s expanded mechanics and item variety. In terms of tone, really Fallout 2 really sets the course for the rest of the franchise. Fallout 1 ends up being this very strange outlier that never really got revisited by official games (there are some stand alone mods that capture it a lot more).
- Twaffle ( @Twaffle@lemmy.world ) English10•1 year ago
I picked up Hi-Fi Rush on sale about a week ago, blew through it once, and am now working on a second play through/new game plus. Super fun game. After putting it down after playing for a while I still feel like I’m doing things to a beat for a bit.
- Sentenial ( @Sentenial@beehaw.org ) English6•1 year ago
I love rhythm games but not normally a fan of action arcade. Hi Fi rush is something special though and I think everyone should give it a chance.
- saigot ( @saigot@lemmy.ca ) English5•1 year ago
I like hifi rush alot, its a real sleeper and i like the vibe. If you are looking for more I really recommend bullets per minute. It’s a roguelike rhythm shooter with a really baller soundtrack. It’s less forgiving than hifi rush but when you get in the zone it can be really rewarding.
- Prefix ( @Prefix@lemm.ee ) English9•1 year ago
Tears Of the Kingdom! Fully went in expecting to be disappointed, but it just continues to blow me away the deeper I get into it. Truly incredible what they were able to pull off with such old hardware.
- mooseknee ( @mooseknee@beehaw.org ) English2•1 year ago
My partner has been playing it and I’m shocked at what’s in that game. Really impressed as an onlooker
- Prefix ( @Prefix@lemm.ee ) English2•1 year ago
It’s honestly outstanding. When I realized how much content was in this game compared to BOTW my jaw hit the floor! I’ve been a life long Zelda fan so it makes me so happy to see the franchise getting renewed love and excitement around it.
- closure1170 ( @closure1170@beehaw.org ) English9•1 year ago
Tears of the Kingdom, although I might take a break for No Man’s Sky
- Crackhappy ( @Crackhappy@lemmy.world ) English9•1 year ago
Going to finish the main campaign in Diablo 4.
- Synthclair ( @Synthclair@beehaw.org ) English3•1 year ago
There is a surprising amount of content after the main campaign, it is a lot of fun (so far).
Have the server issues improved at all?
- Crackhappy ( @Crackhappy@lemmy.world ) English3•1 year ago
I haven’t had a single issue, so I’m not sure what you mean?
Ah cool. Just have seen some posts about long server queues / downtime.
- Synthclair ( @Synthclair@beehaw.org ) English2•1 year ago
No queue at all, at most a couple of seconds loading.
- RamesesKnibs ( @RamesesKnibs@lemmy.world ) English8•1 year ago
Picked up Cult of the Lamb yesterday on sale as I’ve heard nothing but good things and I’m really enjoying it so far. Told myself I’d be a kind and caring cult leader…that didn’t last long!
- Feydaikin ( @Faydaikin@beehaw.org ) English5•1 year ago
CotL is such a cute and disturbing game. Quite addicting as well.
I’m still missing two of the “No Damage Taken” Achievements. But neither my reaction time or patience is what it used to be. XD
- RamesesKnibs ( @RamesesKnibs@lemmy.world ) English3•1 year ago
Yeah I didn’t know a lot about it before I started playing, was expecting something similar to Hades. It’s definitely darker than I expected but really enjoying it so far
- Feydaikin ( @Faydaikin@beehaw.org ) English1•1 year ago
You can do it, Leader. We have faith in you.
- Signfeld ( @Signfeld@lemm.ee ) English8•1 year ago
Diablo 4! I find it oddly relaxing in my current state of mind. At first I was adamant about listening to the soundtrack and all the voice acting but I’ve found I enjoy it way more by just reading the story and listening to my own music.
I’ve got a necromancer and a sorcerer. Necromancer is incredibly easier, to the point I haven’t touched the sorcerer since I made it. I will probably make another character soon, not sure what.
- itsjxssica ( @itsjxssica@lemm.ee ) English4•1 year ago
had a friend recommend me to get this so we could play over summer, have you tried the multiplayer?
- Signfeld ( @Signfeld@lemm.ee ) English1•1 year ago
Well, it’s always multiplayer, meaning you will see people out in the world constantly. A lot of content (like dungeons) is instanced to your party, though, so you won’t see randoms where it really matters. Personally, I have only played solo so far except for the aforementioned randoms :). I’m sure it would be very fun with others, though!
- itsjxssica ( @itsjxssica@lemm.ee ) English3•1 year ago
ohh okay, my friend told me it wasn’t MMO but I understand what he meant with the party instancing thing you mentioned. Looking forward to it!
- AbominableSlinky ( @AbominableSlinky@lemmy.world ) English2•1 year ago
How is it? I was never a huge Diablo fan, but played 3 through because I got it for free with World of Warcraft. It was okay, but I thought the story was kind of meh and it didn’t have the replayability for me as something like Dark Souls.
- Signfeld ( @Signfeld@lemm.ee ) English1•1 year ago
Personally, I like it way more than 3. I could never get into the older games (including 3). Others say it’s a “reskin of 3” which I think is kind of ridiculous.
The story so far is actually pretty intriguing. I mean, it’s not mind-blowing, I’m pretty sure of what will happen, but it’s still good for a game in this genre.
Replayability is really endless, but, I don’t know if I’d say it has more replayability than the older games, it just may be more replayable for you if you like it more.
- Goronmon ( @Goronmon@beehaw.org ) English8•1 year ago
Lots of Diablo 4 this weekend if I can actually get some free time. We’ll see about that, but that’s been my main time sink lately.
- CaptManiac ( @CaptManiac@lemmy.sdf.org ) English2•1 year ago
Same, can’t stop playing it when I get the chance.
- icecrmsandwich ( @icecrmsandwich@beehaw.org ) English8•1 year ago
Tears of the Kingdom has been consuming my life since its release. Now i’m dreading that the end is near - i do not want to stop playing!

- TechnicolorRex ( @TechnicolorRex@beehaw.org ) English2•1 year ago
This is what I’ve been doing as well. Still postponing final fight until all shrines found and some side adventures completed.
- LlamaSutra ( @LlamaSutra@sh.itjust.works ) English8•1 year ago
I’m 20 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn! Been playing it on my steamdeck and having a blast.
- Mythic ( @Mythic@lemmy.world ) English2•1 year ago
I love this game. So happy it made it to PC. I’m only about 10 hours in. The intro cutscene when Aloy jumps as a kid and lands as a young adult was such an epic moment. Enjoy your time playing that one. It’s so beautiful
- LlamaSutra ( @LlamaSutra@sh.itjust.works ) English1•1 year ago
I’m enjoying how story-rich it is! Feels very cinematic.
- treierxyz ( @treierxyz@beehaw.org ) English8•1 year ago
Just bought The Talos Principle and I really like it. I will be playing the heck out of it for the rest of the weekend.
- wischi ( @wischi@lemmyrs.org ) English4•1 year ago
I’d really like to experience my first play-through again. Really awesome game.
- fouc ( @fouc@lemmy.world ) English2•1 year ago
Surprisingly good! Didn’t expect the story to unfold that way from what’s essentially a puzzle game
- dlog ( @dlog@vlemmy.net ) English2•1 year ago
I’ve been replaying it in anticipation of the second one coming out by the end of this year. Can’t wait!
