The atmosphere and visuals of the trailer were incredible, although it would have been nice if they showed off some gameplay footage. It’s not clear to me how “in-engine” cinematics will translate to the actual game. I haven’t played the first game, though. Would people recommend checking it out before the sequel comes out?
I played a couple of hours of the first game. The atmosphere and audio design were amazing. The core gameplay, though… it needed some work. Repetitive combat and lack of clarity in navigating the game’s world made me give it up. If the sequel improves on those weak spots, it could be very enjoyable. But yeah, the trailer told us very little about that.
I followed all the dev vlogs when the first game was announced many years ago now. It absolutely lived up to my expectations and it’s so cool to see Melina grow into the role of Senua!
Really excited to play the sequel
It’s kind of a short game. I usually take forever to play through something and I have 12/13 achievements with 12 hours put into it. I think it’s a good game worth playing. It’s just a little bit short. It’s definitely a “wear headphones” type game for full effect. It’s on sale at steam right now for $7 USD so now’s the time to grab it if you want to play it.
Wow $7 sounds like a steal, I’ll pick it up! It’s also nice to hear it’s a shorter game. I only have time for an hour or so of gaming in the evening, so longer games take me ages to finish.
