Rule 1:
Sexy pirate John Oliver artwork ONLY
Now I have been there for around 4-5 months and Reddit just killing piracy over there and making it a rule uploading this bullshit sucks.
It is not really a useful sub anymore, get off.
Yes I will be active on her though. It is the only useful thing now.
and making it a rule uploading this bullshit sucks
Do you think they just want to troll you?
Have you really not read one of the many stickied posts all over Reddit about the blackout and what the admins are going to do to that website?
It’s supposed to suck!
Yeah, that’s literally the entire point. If the subs are unusable, site traffic falls, Huffman makes less money and looks worse to the investors, and people find better alternatives like here.
Active on her? She’s a lucky lady 😂
It’s honestly hilarious Reddit bungled this so badly as to upset everyone. Ah well, at least with this digital piracy community I can rest assured a corporation isn’t censoring discourse.
Reddit is probably going to be happy about the protest in this sub. Can’t imagine that investors like the sub about getting stuff for free…
But then they should be happy we wanted to stay close right? How is a big dead sub better than a private one new people wouldn’t even know it exists? Forcing r/piracy open was a very weird decision, I still don’t get it.
The power of Reddit lies within its very diverse and many communities on special interests. People browsing r/piracy also browse the Frontpage, r/all and so on. But mainly their special interests is what kept them there. Because funny memes can be found everywhere.
Now, if those special interests are not being served any more, people will go elsewhere. So no, I don’t think they will be happy and investors won’t be either.
I’m not going to supply anyone on reddit anymore content. I’m not exactly a prolific poster but I do know my way around a few technical topics.
Technical content drew me to reddit and since a large chunk is migrating so will I.
Currently I am consuming some content from reddit but I’m not engaging with it. As a result I know my usage will fade away just like it did with Facebook.
Piracy and privacy guides, two main reasons why I’m here. Arggg 🤣
Aye a fellow lemmy.one user 🙋♂️🚢
Aye a fellow lemmy.one user!
@hyperio The great thing is, I don’t even have to sign up. I just follow this sub (do you still call it a sub?) from my #Mastodon!
Ahh, bless the #Fediverse.
I think is called community now. At least is c/piracy to access !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Ohhh, what a clueless summer child. Hussshh, everything will be alright.
It won’t be the same without RARBG. 😭
i still miss isohunt and mininova
I’ve not thought about Isohunt for a looooong time. That takes me back.
Mininova? I still miss Suprnova!
Wow haven’t heard those names in ages
yeah, consistently great 1080p X265 releases you could rely on them, this was a big loss for me, nobody release that many X265 releases that fast, PSA only mainstream, megusta only TV shows, everything else either too slow or too rare
Arr, take my wooden peg!
Let’s do it then
I didn’t use /r/piracy, but I do read this forum
Ich war dabei. Los Piraten!
Quick question, how does this piracy community compare with fmhy?
Fmhy are just providers of the instance and that’s what their general communities focus on. For information regarding the high seas, this is the community you want to look into.
I’m afraid to ask, but why John Oliver?
He makes Last Week Tonight which is a show with a big reach, Reddit-Mods are essentially pinging him.
He did respond on Twitter with a dump of sexy pictures of him to post.
The show is on pause because of the writers-strike at the moment, so it might take a while for this to be a topic.
I wasn’t sure if the writers strike was still happening. Earlier today I did search on YouTube for his segment on the reddit situation to see what he had to say.
