“Noclip” sourced broadcast quality tapes from the E3 event which spawned many memes

Computerchairgeneral ( @Computerchairgeneral@kbin.social ) 11•2 years agoIt feels weird to be watching this conference in such high quality. I had forgotten just how many memes this conference spawned, but I do miss that awkwardness a lot of the mid-2000s E3 presentations had. They weren’t just a guy in a suit talking about sales figures anymore, but they were still a long way from the more polished showcases we have today.
Drewsipher ( @drewsipher@lemmy.ml ) 5•2 years agoThe fact that Danny got those tapes from giant bomb makes me happy. I know the boys at GB these days are putting in work but aren’t gonna be able to use them and Jeff has other work on his plate with the kids so Danny being able to use the fact that documenting video games is his bread and butter is so great
UKFilmNerd ( @UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk ) 4•2 years agoThis is amazing. I think I watched this live at the time. I’ll always remember the “based on famous battles” line followed by footage of soldiers fighting a giant crab!

brsrklf ( @brsrklf@compuverse.uk ) 1•2 years agoLet’s be honest, the only reason I was still following E3 for a while was hope that something like E3 2006 would happen again.
Since it only got progressively more boring with time, I didn’t care much about it being cancelled, be it this year or forever.
