MobileTechGuy ( @MobileTechGuy@lemmy.ml ) 9•11 months agoIsn’t this his fourth indictment?
Yeah, here’s a run-down of the others
EtnaAtsume ( @EtnaAtsume@lemmy.ml ) 6•11 months agoAgain? I thought this happened already? What’s different about this one?
He was impeached for it, but the Senate Republicans voted against consequences.
He’s been indicted for violating the espionage act
He’s expected to be indicted for election interference in Georgia
He’s expected to be indicted for paying hush money.
This is the first criminal charge for his Jan. 6 insurrection
Edit: added a couple more indictments
PowerCrazy ( @PowerCrazy@lemmy.ml ) 2•11 months agoOk and so he has to pay a fine? What are the actual, real consequences of this?
If he is convicted, there’s the potential for a couple decades in prison.
Sc00ter ( @Sc00ter@lemmy.ml ) 6•11 months agoPer this link, up to 55 years

SokathHisEyesOpen ( @Anticorp@lemmy.ml ) 3•11 months ago n0m4n ( @n0m4n@lemmy.ml ) 1•11 months agoIf Trump is found guilty, and was sentenced for all of his crimes to be served consecutively, it adds to over five hundred years, according to Trump himself. That almost never happens, though. The maximum sentence of the three most severe crimes is twenty years/each. Any likely sentence could be a life term, given his age. IANAL though.
