I’ve been really into two lately:

Sinisterhood- stories about all things sinister- true crime, paranormal, etc. Hosted by two ladies, one of which is a lawyer, which really adds to the discussions!

Tooth and Claw- animal attack stories, but with a focus on education instead of sensationalism. I hardly ever go into the wilderness, but if I do run into a bear at any point, I’m going to be SO prepared!!

  • I’ve recently finished ‘who shat on the floor at my wedding’ it’s an exceptionally funny podcast. There are only two episodes I would consider filler episodes and the rest contribute to the overall story.

The podcast is kinda self explanatory, two ladies get their mate to become an amateur detective to solve the shocking crime of who shat on the floor at their wedding

It was only an 8-part series, but I recently listened to Scamanda and really enjoyed it. Very in-depth look at Amanda Riley and her years-long scam of faking cancer to get hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.

For an ongoing podcast, Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know. Goes into some weird and wacky news, history, and stories, very enjoyable listen. Also Scamfluencers for… well, stories about celebrity/influencer scammers.

  • I mostly listen to the Rooster Teeth podcasts, so here goes:

FaceJam is a podcast that nominally is about trying every new (limited time) fast food creation to see if you should try it too, but it’s more a comedy podcast where they talk about their encounters with staff/public at the restaurant, tell jokes about fast food, etc. 10/10 would recommend.

RTP (their official rooster teeth podcast) is something like 900 episodes long, but all of that can be discounted if you want for their more recent (i.e. like four episodes ago) change of hosts and format to three incredibly funny comedians and writers who just wanna tell you their jokes, and they nail it. 9/10

Lastly, if you just want something bonkers the fuckface podcast is a podcast with three hosts best described as a lot of Lore About Nothing. It goes in wild tangents and has some of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard in it, but it’s quite funny… Albeit hard to look up or talk about with others.

Hmm, is the comment-leaver status only if you’ve talked about it on one of the official platforms? The deep lore is hard to keep straight. Either way I think we don’t really have to worry about it here, your secret is safe with me! 🤐

Going to download some of these! I can’t wait to hear Face Jam’s take on Starbucks’ Oleato, lol

Is f**kface the kind of podcast where you need to start at the beginning to get all the jokes? Or can you drop in anywhere?

      • Some other community members have picked out good introductory episodes that don’t have too many in-jokes, especially because with all podcasts they get better as they go on and so the earlier episodes while not bad are not as good as the current stuff. However, my suggestion would still be to start at the beginning and work from there. It’s not the sort of podcast you have to stay up to date on or else you’ll miss out, so just take your time with it, let it fill in the lulls between your other podcasts’ releases, and you’ll catch up in no time!

My current favorite was already mentioned, so I’ll list some runner-ups:

    • Heart Gamedev Podcast: 5-20 minute episodes from Heartbeast where he discusses the current progress on his game
    • The Losers’ Club: They talk about Stephen King. A lot. Currently covering Under the Dome, and I think 11/22/63 is later this year!
    • Everything is Alive: The host interviews inanimate objects like a can of coke, an elevator, or a subway seat. It’s funny and surprisingly thought provoking
