You have to be an idiot to pay these subscriptions. Paying them only invites more corporate abuse.

or you have the money and you want heated seats

Most people probably aren’t thinking about how this affects others or how it enables abuse

car companies have gotten increasingly brazen with subscriptions like this, so i’m excited to see if one of them eventually just pulls the trigger on requiring a subscription service for airbags or seat belts or something in an effort to gauge more money out of people

But can’t it be argued that these microtransactions (albeit marginally) decrease the price for those who don’t want certain features while still allowing people who want those features to easily access them?

in all likelihood they’re priced into the total price of the vehicle, so no you’re probably still paying for these features without the ability to actually use them. (and unless you’re getting an itemized bill when you buy a car, how would you even know either way?)
