Doombot1 ( @Doombot1@beehaw.org ) English23•2 years agoMinecraft. I’ve gotten sucked in all over again, lol. Happens every other year at this point
Lycan ( @Lycan@beehaw.org ) English14•2 years agoJet Set Radio Future!
raijian ( @raijian@beehaw.org ) English5•2 years agoStellar game. Looking forward to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
Lycan ( @Lycan@beehaw.org ) English4•2 years agoBomb Rush Cyberfunk is the reason I’m replaying JSRF all these years later! I’m (im)patiently waiting for its release
Aggy ( @Aggy@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoMan, I loved that game and played the hell out of it when I first got it. The music is just so damn good that I still listen to it despite not playing for so many years.
Lycan ( @Lycan@beehaw.org ) 3•2 years agoThe music is so fucking good in JSRF and JSR. I’ve had the tracks in playlists for years despite not touching JSRF since I was a kid with access to the OG Xbox. It’s a shame it was never brought up to any other platform so I’m forced to emulate
Metatron ( @Metatron@beehaw.org ) English14•2 years agoLast of Us part 1. Never played a Last of Us, but streaming to the steam deck has got me playing more single player games.
onlooker ( @onlooker@lemmy.ml ) English12•2 years agoStellaris, all day every day. I’m not exaggerating either. Last weekend you could play it for free, so I thought why not give it a shot, you know? I like sci-fi themed games and I haven’t played a 4X game in a while. So I give it a shot and… it’s suddenly 1AM. So I buy the game. And most of the earlier expansions.
And now I play it every day. And when I’m not playing the game, I think about it. What will I research? How can I improve my economy? Will I attack my dickhead neighbours for laying claim to MY systems? Nah, just kidding. I’m actually thinking on HOW I’m going to attack them. A game hasn’t hooked me this bad in a long while.
soulsource ( @soulsource@discuss.tchncs.de ) English2•2 years agoYou know what’s the worst part of Stellaris? Every time you think that you know all the content and that it’s getting boring, the devs just crank out a new DLC that significantly alters how the game plays.
So, it gets another couple of play-throughs.
onlooker ( @onlooker@lemmy.ml ) English1•2 years agoUnfortunately, I’m well aware of this approach. They did the same shit with Cities Skylines.
rockyTron ( @rockyTron@lemm.ee ) English1•2 years agoDefinitely has that civ vibe… just… one… more… turn!
For me:
-
Wo Long, again, on the PS5 this time and with the Season Pass. I’m a freak so I’ll get it done before the first DLC drops this week
-
FFXVI. I have many, many thoughts about this game right now but I’ll hold my tongue until I finish it. i probably will.
-
PSO2:NG. I’m done with grad school so I’m delving into those big, forever games again. FFXIV is boring to me now so I thought I’d give NG a try. I played PSO2 a lil bit now and again. if you play this lemme know! I’m on Ship 3, but I literally just started, so
-
Battle Bit Remastered. The only FPS I’ve ever been good at is Apex. This is not that, but it’s fun and low stakes so I’ll take it.
-
Ender Lilies and Afterimage. I’ve been on a Metroidvania kick lately
-
Street Fighter 6. still searching for my main (and my skill in this game)
megabucks ( @megabucks@beehaw.org ) English2•2 years agoI’ve been playing “Haiku the Robot” that was recently featured in Humble’s Metroidvania bundle. It’s a really nice, small Hollow Knight clone.
Haiku is great! Super cute and I like the sorta lo-fi, near-Game Boy Color aesthetic it has.
Pheta ( @Pheta@kbin.social ) 2•2 years agoHey, I play POS2:NG as well! It’s a pretty fun game, tons to collect and customize, plus where they added your own island, there’s more to grind for. I only deep dive occasionally, when there’s something I really want, or my mates get back into it. Combat is pretty fun, so don’t be afraid to try out different classes!
One thing I would note about PSO2:NG is that it’s just as aggressively monetized as it’s predecessor, so keep a tight hold on your wallet. It’s got a subscription service for typical premium benefits, but there’s no BP thankfully.
One thing heavily promoted by PSO2 is the Scratch Ticket feature. Scratch Tickets are basically gachas for cosmetics. This can include emotes, animations for running, jumping, and gliding, clothing and accessories. There’s typically around 4-5 depending on events and whatnot. There’s a free scratch that’s done once a day, has some pretty basic stuff that does get additions as prior scratch tickets grow older (note that not all content is added, as lots of scratch tickets are re-run), the SG (freemium currency) scratch ticket and AC scratch tickets.
That’s not to say you can’t earn AC, as a lot of compensation is given out for maintenance, any major bugs or things like that. It’s just that you’re not going to be able to earn AC by actively playing outside of these compensations, and paying.I’m on ship 2, and like I said, not typically on, but if you ever have questions or need help running stuff, just hit me up.

HeapOfDogs ( @HeapOfDogs@beehaw.org ) English11•2 years agoV rising. I’m playing on my own server with just my husband on occasion. At this point it’s mostly barbie dream house. I send the servants off to farm and keep redecorating.
I’m a little conflicted about having a prison in my house though. My husband tells me I’m a vampire so that makes it ok.
EchoCranium ( @EchoCranium@lemmy.zip ) English1•2 years agoFriend and I played quite a bit when V Rising first came out. Had fun with it, but I personally got sick of having to constantly pivot the camera because the scenery was always blocking my view. I know they just released a big update recently, I may have to check it out again.
TootSweet ( @TootSweet@latte.isnot.coffee ) English10•2 years agoTears of the Kingdom as I have been every day since it came out and as I likely will every day until I’ve one hundred percented it.
dang i need to get back to that…
newtraditionalists ( @newtraditionalists@beehaw.org ) English9•2 years agoSo much Street Fighter 6. I’ve played fighting games my whole life, but I’m enjoying taking this one a little more seriously. I still suck in online but am slowly improving! Also playing Back 4 Blood with some friends, which is always fun!
Braggston08 ( @Braggston08@kbin.social ) 9•2 years agoPlaying Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time and having a lot of fun
🦄🦄🦄 ( @Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.de ) 1•2 years agoI wish I could forget the game and start again (hoping for something along those lines once the Phantom Liberty update dropps lol) Enjoy!
mustyOrange ( @mustyOrange@beehaw.org ) English8•2 years agoReturnal
God this game is difficult
steal_your_face ( @steal_your_face@lemmy.ml ) English4•2 years agoThat game looks super cool. Will prob buy it when it’s on a deeper steam sale.
NoHardshipInPancakes ( @NoHardshipInPancakes@beehaw.org ) English8•2 years agoZelda Minish cap, super mario bros, and some pokemon Gold. just been feeling the childhood games lately
marfey ( @marfey@feddit.de ) English1•2 years agoOh damn good idea. I will get out the emulator and play some good old Nintendo games as well. thanks for the pointer.
President_Pyrus ( @President_Pyrus@feddit.dk ) English8•2 years agoFactorio. Way too much Factorio.
marfey ( @marfey@feddit.de ) English5•2 years agoI feel you.
President_Pyrus ( @President_Pyrus@feddit.dk ) English3•2 years agoIt is with very good reason called Cracktorio
Narrrz ( @Narrrz@kbin.social ) 1•2 years agoThe factory must grow.
CynAq ( @CynAq@kbin.social ) 7•2 years agoI somehow skipped over Hollow Knight until now. I’m playing that this week, and maybe forever.
The game is dope. Duxon ( @Duxon@feddit.de ) 2•2 years agoSlight spoiler warning:
Same for me. I put it down for a few days after failing Mantis Lords and Soul Master and getting salty about the bench placements, but after watching this video on why the Mantis Lords are fantastically designed , I picked it up again and start to really enjoy it – winning both of these boss fights in two attempts. Before engaging them again, it was worth exploring more and getting stronger. The game doesn’t communicate well how strong you currently are (e.g., by not having health bars for the bosses). The best clue was to see how well you can score against the standard monsters in that area.
Chetzemoka ( @Chetzemoka@kbin.social ) 2•2 years agoI’m not a gamer.
I beat the original Contra on NES and I’ve barely played anything ever except the first Animal Crossing and AC:NH during the pandemic.
I picked up Hollow Knight for Christmas last year and it’s the first game I’ve played to completion in literally 35 years. I just got [no spoilers] ending with 105% completion like two weeks ago.
I can’t begin to convey how much I love this game. It’s definitely what I’m (still) playing this week.
CynAq ( @CynAq@kbin.social ) 1•2 years agoRight? It’s just that good!
Chetzemoka ( @Chetzemoka@kbin.social ) 1•2 years agoIt really is though. I’m super excited for you :)
Narrrz ( @Narrrz@kbin.social ) 7•2 years agoA lot of timberborn.
I can’t allow myself to use the speedup controls in games, and I’m playing iron teeth (newly revamped) but for some insane reason I’m not letting myself build engines, and i made droughts longer, so basically 50% of the time i have no power and all my bots don’t work.
Lol
Spicy ( @Spicy@beehaw.org ) English7•2 years agoI’ve just picked up Brotato yesterday, it’s a roguelike bullet hell where you build up your character and try to survive 20 waves using loads of different weapons and items. The great thing is you control your character with just one analog stick, but it’s a lot harder than it sounds. Reminds me a lot of old flash games I used to play as a kid. I’ve only played for a few hours so far and managed to win one run. Personally, I love the experience of figuring out a gameand working out optimal strategies, an itch which Slay the Spire has been scratching for a long time for me. I can already tell I’m going to invest a lot of time into this game, I was hooked right from the beginning. Loving the sound of SMG bullets decimating entire hordes of enemies. Well worth picking up on steam, plays really well on the steam deck. The game is only £4 at full price, and it’s 20% off right now.
