Title + Why you like that client?
I am using eternity from some hours and my fav is liftoff.
mtchristo ( @mtchristo@lemm.ee ) 34•2 years agoEternity, hands down the best,
open source = no ads or tracking
very cutomisable, smooth navigation, no major bugs. + supports older phones
xigoi ( @xigoi@lemmy.sdf.org ) 6•2 years agoFor me it’s very buggy, although I still like it the most.
Uninvited Guest ( @uninvitedguest@lemmy.ca ) 1•2 years agoDoes it mark read on scroll? I checked it out early but it seemed to lack that feature.
Emanuel ( @Emanuel@lemmy.eco.br ) 2•2 years agoI personally don’t use the feature, but I just tested it and it seems to work. How well, I don’t know; it would require more extensive usage.
In case you end up trying Eternity again, the setting is under preferences -> post history.
Uninvited Guest ( @uninvitedguest@lemmy.ca ) 2•2 years agoThank you, I’ll give it another download and spin.
lastjunkieonearth ( @lastjunkieonearth@lemdro.id ) English2•2 years agoyes it does
rob_Boj ( @rob_Boj@lemmy.ml ) English23•2 years agoBoost just launched today. Loved it for Reddit
escape ( @escape@beehaw.org ) 1•2 years agoThats great news! I wonder if I have to buy it again.
oni ( @oni@lemmy.ml ) English1•2 years agoThe ad-supported free option is still there. But yeah, if you want premium, you’ll need to buy again.
SargTeaPot ( @Sargteapot@lemmy.nz ) 16•2 years agoPersonally I use sync. I know it’s a touchy subject but it works flawlessly for me. I did buy the $20 no ads option so ads don’t affect me at all.
kratoz29 ( @kratoz29@lemm.ee ) English3•2 years agoYou don’t need to throw disclaimers, all FOSS bros need to understand that we can use whatever the heck we want, so they can.
oni ( @oni@lemmy.ml ) English12•2 years agoAnyone can use whatever they want, ofc. But this is the opensource sub, lol
squirrel ( @squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de ) 16•2 years agoThere was a poll a week ago and it reached over 6000 votes. That won’t answer Why, but you get a general idea which clients people use.
Encode1307 ( @Encode1307@lemm.ee ) English13•2 years agoThat was before boost was released. I bet it’ll look different now.
1984 ( @1984@beehaw.org ) 1•2 years agoUnless people value their data and won’t use boost
Encode1307 ( @Encode1307@lemm.ee ) English2•2 years agoThey’re using sync. I think that has the same issues
bonn2 ( @bonn2@lemm.ee ) 7•2 years agoHow liftoff is so far down on that list baffles me
Same here my fav client
Virual ( @Virual@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) English1•2 years agoIt’s a good app, but it also hasn’t received an update in two months.
bonn2 ( @bonn2@lemm.ee ) 1•2 years agoThat’s a shame, well I guess I’ll keep using it till it stops working. Then I would probably be switching back to Eternity as I used to use Infinity
Tutunkommon ( @Tutunkommon@beehaw.org ) 1•2 years agoI used Liftoff for quite a while. It just stopped working one day about 3-ish weeks ago. Couldn’t ever get it to work again. I might be an outlier, but if others had the same experience it may explain it.
Thanks btw ur client
squirrel ( @squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de ) 5•2 years agoI’m using Eternity, because I used Infinity for Reddit before and it’s just the most familiar client for me.
kratoz29 ( @kratoz29@lemm.ee ) English1•2 years agoIt needs to be updated to include Boost… maybe in a couple of weeks…
sag ( @sag@lemm.ee ) 13•2 years agoJerboa It made by dev of lemmy. And it Minimal
cakey ( @cakey@beehaw.org ) 1•2 years agojerboa felt a bit rough around the edges in my opinion. it also decided one day that it had no interest in working on my phone anymore, so i was forced to switch. can’t say i would recommend it
Pantherina ( @Pantherina@feddit.de ) 11•2 years agoJerboah actually. Its the most complete, stable and looks very good. Used Thunder but it lacks features and is kinda buggy. I was hyped about Infinity, but I only really needed Infinity to have private subscriptions and multi accounts, which I dont have on Lemmy.
Lemmchen ( @Lemmchen@feddit.de ) English11•2 years agoI came from rif is fun and so I’m using Jerboa now. I don’t need a fancy UI, I need minimalism.
itsgroundhogdayagain ( @itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml ) 11•2 years agoI use Connect and I’ve liked it. being able to block communities I don’t want in my feed is easy and I get the impression that other apps don’t have this feature. I can also block posts by keywords which is also nice not having to see post after post about Elon or furries
Setarkus ( @Setarkus@toast.ooo ) 1•2 years agoCan’t speak for most apps but communities can be blocked on Eternity and Thunder. I just wish there was a way to block an entire instance as user
itsgroundhogdayagain ( @itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml ) 1•2 years agoConnect can block instances and users
wahming ( @wahming@monyet.cc ) English1•2 years agoThink most apps have the blocking features, actually.
eleefece ( @eleefece@kbin.social ) 10•2 years agoBoost - Mainly because is what I used on reddit
RxBrad ( @RxBrad@lemmings.world ) English10•2 years agoConnect.
It’s an all-new app, and not just some dev’s existing Reddit app wrapped around Lemmy.
And it’s free with no tracking, no ads, and no crazy $100 pricetag to remove ads for a social network that’s still on somewhat shaky ground.
Jtskywalker ( @Jtskywalker@lemm.ee ) 4•2 years agoI love connect. I used sync for a bit and it’s great too but I fully switched to connect now
Leax ( @Leax@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 3•2 years agoI love Connect too!
Chemical Wonka ( @chemicalwonka@discuss.tchncs.de ) English8•2 years agoEternity, no doubt.
archchan ( @archchan@lemmy.ml ) 8•2 years agoJeroba because it’s dev made and it was like the only one when I got on Lemmy. And it’s actually good. Recently started using Eternity as well because I was using Infinity as my main client for reddit.
Hemingways_Shotgun ( @Adderbox76@lemmy.ca ) English7•2 years agoSync by a country mile
Phi ( @PhictionalOne@feddit.de ) 7•2 years agoEternity. I was using infinity for years for reddead and having an in-situ replacement is nice.
nobloat ( @nobloat@lemmy.ml ) English7•2 years agoEternity which is a fork of Infinity for Reddit. I’ve been using Infinity for ages so I really love Eternity
