Looking for games to play on the ipad, what do you guys recommend
sylverstream ( @sylverstream@lemmy.nz ) 15•1 year agoStardew Valley. Loved to play it on long haul flights, doesn’t need Internet.
zef ( @zef@beehaw.org ) 3•1 year agoThe good news (for iOS people) is that it’s coming to Apple Arcade in July (for the 10 people that hadn’t bought it yet).
Heisl ( @Heisl@feddit.de ) English1•1 year agoDoes it have a local multiplayer over Bluetooth? Thinking about playing it with my gf on our next flight.
sylverstream ( @sylverstream@lemmy.nz ) English1•1 year agoNot on the Android version AFAIK.
Evergreen5970 ( @Evergreen5970@beehaw.org ) 1•1 year agoLower price than non-mobile Stardew, at least when I got it. Gateway drugged me into buying it on PC so I could use those sweet mods.
Jxn ( @Jxn@beehaw.org ) 10•1 year agoOsmos is a wonderful meditative game on iPad.
oomphaloompha ( @oomphaloompha@beehaw.org ) 3•1 year agoOoh I totally forgot this one! Osmos is seriously an amazing game, one of my favorite games of all time.
BrainisfineIthink ( @BrainisfineIthink@lemmy.one ) 10•1 year agoDead Cells! Best mobile port of a PC/Console game I’ve ever encountered.
I put it on my list, do you have any online multiplayer games you like?
BrainisfineIthink ( @BrainisfineIthink@lemmy.one ) English1•1 year agoNot for mobile really. Actually maybe Gwent? Wasn’t my thing but a lot of people love it!
Underwaterbob ( @Underwaterbob@lemm.ee ) 10•1 year agoThe only mobile game I’ve spent any amount of time with was You Must Build a Boat. It’s a bejeweled clone with dungeon crawling and RPG elements. It’s dirt cheap and has no ads or in-app transactions. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
thatsTheCatch ( @thatsTheCatch@lemmy.nz ) 8•1 year agoI really like Data Wing. Cool top-down 2D arcade racing game with a cool story, free with no ads. It’s obvious a heap of passion was poured into the game. Still my favourite mobile game.
EDIT: I use Android so I’m not sure it’s on the Apple Appstore but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be
I verified its on the ios app store, last updated 4 years ago tho :/
Duxon ( @Duxon@feddit.de ) 3•1 year agoThat’s okay if it was finished by then, isn’t it?
thatsTheCatch ( @thatsTheCatch@lemmy.nz ) 3•1 year agoIn this case, I think that’s okay. It’s a linear, story-based game with an end. It has level leaderboards so you can grind down your time if you want. I don’t think it needs updating
ivy ( @ivy@fedi196.gay ) 8•1 year agomindustry is my fav
it’s a crazy good combo of resource management, tower defense, rts, and sandbox creativity
added bonus that it’s open source and even has multi-player
RedForFred ( @RedForFred@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoI started it on the PC and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Really fun game!
Blake (he/him) ( @bl4kers@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoHad no idea this was on mobile. Can’t imagine playing any factory game by tapping alone though
Adramis [he/him] ( @Adramis@beehaw.org ) 1•1 year agoThis. The game is great, but man, halfway through the first level I felt like I was in the hot dog fingers universe from “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.”
Heisl ( @Heisl@feddit.de ) 8•1 year agoI’ve put quite some time into Bloons TD 6. Definitely addicting.
FTL plays great on the iPad
AdamBomb ( @AdamBomb@lemmy.sdf.org ) 4•1 year agoGreat game, and sophomore release Into The Breach by the same studio is also available on iPad visa Netflix Games
preppietechie ( @preppietechie@midwest.social ) English7•1 year agoCurrently on my phone:
- Civilization VI
- Civilization Revolutions 2
- Into The Breach
- Mini Motorways
- Shovel Knight Dig
- Slay the Spire
- Grindstone

ScottyB ( @ScottyB@kbin.social ) 6•1 year agoThrow a comma or two in there my guy
preppietechie ( @preppietechie@midwest.social ) English1•1 year agolol sorry… Mlem chose to drop all of the line breaks.
buckykat ( @buckykat@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) 6•1 year agopicross is fun there’s gotta be some picross type games on the ios side
I love picross games, but when the puzzle gets to large it’s hard to play on phone screens.
buckykat ( @buckykat@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) 2•1 year ago20 or 25 squares are the sweet spot for me just for counting and holding-numbers-in-my-head reasons and those play fine on a phone screen. I do have a Note though, and play with the stylus.
LukasT ( @LukasT@feddit.dk ) 6•1 year agoSlay the Spire has a decent iOS port
Domiku ( @Domiku@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoI play it on iPad, but have found the touch controls to be a little off (for lack of better description). You’d think that flinging cards should feel great on a touchscreen, but I’m never quite sure if they’re going to activate the way that I want.
AdamBomb ( @AdamBomb@lemmy.sdf.org ) 1•1 year agoSeconded! I’ve put over 500 hours into it. Excellent game.
oomphaloompha ( @oomphaloompha@beehaw.org ) 5•1 year agoPathos - Nethack Codex, a very playable traditional roguelike based on Nethack.
Unciv, an open-source Civilization V remake.
blast25 ( @blast25@kbin.social ) 5•1 year ago20 minutes till dawn. You kill stuff and build around your character trying to survive for 20 minutes.
Damino ( @Damino@discuss.tchncs.de ) 5•1 year agoAs a Final Fantasy fan, I’ve been buying games on PC instead of mobile when I have the choice, but I just started Final Fantasy Dimensions the other day, which is exclusive to iOS and Android, and I’m having a good time.
Nice ill check it out!
fbievan ( @fbievan@fedia.io ) 5•1 year agoShadow fight 2 (paid version) and also The Silent Age (thankfully Google bard reminded me of the name of this game)
fbievan ( @fbievan@fedia.io ) 2•1 year agoThese 2 games are by far the best mobile games I played
