It only took me 91 hours! Woohoo!
synae[he/him] ( @synae@lemmy.sdf.org ) English20•9 months agoForgive me for the dumb question, I’ve never actually played factorio… but I thought it was one of those “infinite” games without a win condition?
Edit: thanks for the explanation, all!
key ( @key@lemmy.keychat.org ) English19•9 months agoYes and no. The “win” condition is building and launching a rocket to space. There’s minimal additional content after that but it doesn’t stop you from playing. You can always just keep building and improving your factory to keep launching rockets faster and faster. The developer is working on an extension where you keep playing on different planets and in space so pretty soon it’ll take even longer to “win”.
dan ( @dan@lemm.ee ) English3•9 months ago“Winning” is like making it to max level in a mmorpg. It’s not the end but it is the beginning of the endgame.
key ( @key@lemmy.keychat.org ) English11•9 months agoWhat did that wood chest do to you?
gloriousspearfish ( @gloriousspearfish@feddit.dk ) 2•9 months agoSomething must up with that, OP tried to hide it.
giloronfoo ( @giloronfoo@beehaw.org ) 2•9 months agoIt had all of the pistols.
If you know, you know
Namstel ( @Namstel@lemmy.one ) 1•9 months agoIt was a mimic.
wlsnt ( @wlsnt@reddthat.com ) 8•9 months agoEvery time I start, play 10 minutes, remember how much I’ll have to work on the factory, give up, repeat
shadowbert ( @shadowbert@kbin.social ) 4•9 months agoIt’s a issue I have with most factory games, or even games like Minecraft. I really enjoy mid-late game. Early game is almost always a slog… an important and fun one the first time, but after the first time…
Give in and just be slow on your multi month map like me
Ultimatenab ( @Ultimatenab@beehaw.org ) 1•9 months agoAs a rookie of 1300 hours, this game is by bar the best investment I’ve ever done in gaming.
Congratulations and now onto a deathworld run, after that I would say go for game changing mods such as space exploration and the like.
