taaz ( @taaz@biglemmowski.win ) English21•9 months agoRooibos - not a tea plant so it does not fuck with your sleeping schedule, great hot or cold and with any kind of (tea/coffee) condiment.
I love that stuff, especially with a bit of vanilla.
bitcrafter ( @bitcrafter@lemmy.sdf.org ) 2•9 months agoRooibos is just an inferior version of honeybush.
Change my mind.
NathanUp ( @NathanUp@lemmy.ml ) 8•9 months agoRooibos, mint, and chamomile for sure.
OprahsedCreature ( @OprahsedCreature@lemmy.ml ) 5•9 months agoI’m surprised I had to scroll down this far for chamomile
eezeebee ( @eezeebee@lemmy.ca ) English7•9 months agoPine needle tea. It’s just pine needles. Maybe it’s the placebo effect, but it always seems to give me a boost when I feel a cold coming on.
essell ( @essellburns@beehaw.org ) 7•9 months agoLiquorice and peppermint I absolute favourite
Vej ( @Vej@lemm.ee ) 6•9 months agoYarrow, Plantain, and Solidago are all plants that help with various health issues. I’m pretty big on foraging, but these plants are amazing to keep around to either add to teas or make for teas.
If you are looking for something a bit stronger, Mr. T. He’s less about herbal. More about kicking ass.

Another Catgirl ( @anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 5•9 months agoChamomile, catnip, pine, a powdered antacid (like calcium carbonate or baking soda), and something with turmeric.
Ben Hur Horse Race ( @JudahBenHur@lemm.ee ) 8•9 months agoIm…not sure putting baking soda into a glass of water is really, in spirit, a tea. Kind of like saying Kool-Aid and Alka-Seltzer is tea?
Another Catgirl ( @anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 2•9 months agoI meant the salt-of-carbonate might be effective at mixing with painfully sour teas to make them more palatable for people sensitive to sour food like me.
Ben Hur Horse Race ( @JudahBenHur@lemm.ee ) 2•9 months agoOh right thats actually interesting… whats an example of a tea you’d find painfully sour? I typically think of the bitter realm when it comes to tea
Another Catgirl ( @anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 1•9 months agousually it’s orange and lemon flavored teas, like half-and-half with lemonade. I also tried a very sour cherry-rose tea about a year ago.

Whisper06 ( @Whisper06@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 4•9 months agoSomething that can be grown somewhat locally. For me it would be hibiscus flowers.
TisI ( @TisI@reddthat.com ) 4•9 months agoGinger and roasted dandelion root.
I have a hard time picking one, but Senna has some practical medicinal uses so it should probably be in there.
Pantherina ( @Pantherina@feddit.de ) 3•9 months ago- Chamomilla
- Peppermint
- Green Tea
- Cannabis sativa
charlytune ( @charlytune@mander.xyz ) 3•9 months agoI love tulsi / holy basil, but there seems to only be a couple of brands that do it here (UK) and they’re usually a bit pricey.
Thisfox ( @Thisfox@sopuli.xyz ) 2•9 months agoPeppermint. Rosehip. Chamomile. All these people are talking about black tea, instead of herbal teas, very odd.
I should have specified tisanes tbh.
