I know, but it’s a magnificent chair and everyone should know about it. It also made an appearance on friends.

Immediately thought of this chair upon viewing the meme, thank you for posting.
I’m surprised they never encountered a race that had legs that bent the other way and just have an awkward moment where the human crew can’t figure out how to sit in the chairs of the alien conference room.
Out-of-universe, it probably wouldn’t work well for center of mass with respect to the direction of vision.

What about the joystick, I mean manual steering column. Pretty sure the one on the Enterprise-E was some dressed up off the shelf model. It looks a bit like something between a logitech wingman extreme and quickshot.
