They did say they have news to share in September at least. Glad I didn’t pre-order though, although they’ve started offering refunds to those who did.

  • Same here. I was sooo excited about this game when I first heard of it and saw the trailers. But at this point I barely have any hope left that it will actually be released. It’s been so long and too much stuff has happened.

I have some faith in it since Paradox owns it now. They’ve got the money to spend on it, and it could be a huge IP for them if they don’t fuck it up early. There’s a WoD mod for for CK(3 I think) that’ll was pretty good a few years ago and they were supportive of it. I’d love to see an official Paradox GSG in the WoD.

Paradox generally does a good job managing studios and getting their games to a good spot, if you like their style of games at least. They don’t do action games, mostly strategy and some RPGs and other things. I have some amount of faith that they’ll get this in a good state before they let it get out the door.

  • Ah, I didn’t realize they’d said news were coming. At any rate, I’m just assuming it’s dead and hoping we get to hear more about its no doubt troubled history at some point, whatever else we get on top of that at this point I’ll consider a bonus.

  • Yeah. It’s a shame. Couldn’t believe we were getting a sequel to Bloodlines and was excited to learn more. Now, I’ve lowered my expectations to the floor and will be pleasantly surprised if it’s released and is decent. But who knows? I remember a lot of doomsaying around the System Shock remake when it was repeatedly delayed and that seems to have been well received.

  • Aren’t you guys vamps, so decade long dev cycles might as well be over in just a blink?

Seriously, I’m so glad I have a couple other really good games to keep me distracted, while waiting for (or mourning over?) Bloodlines 2. Until I read it here in the comments, I already forgot that it’s published by Paradox, though. So that gives me a bit of hope that it’s still actively being worked on. And if the base game is really good, I won’t even mind if it gets dozens of semi-expensive DLCs over the years post-release (because that also seems to be a staple of Paradox games).
