I just wanna share that I am happy with how the lemmy and beehaw are. Smaller comunities but when I post or comment I get meaningfull awensers and talks. Despite the mentioned size I get responses quicker then I did on reddit and it generally feels like more alive place, I can feel like folks are here for a reason. :3
What are yall feelings about it?
Thalestr ( @Thalestr@beehaw.org ) English17•2 years agoI like that Beehaw is smaller. It reminds me more of an old web forum, which are the days I really miss.
CrimsonOnoscopy ( @CrimsonOnoscopy@beehaw.org ) English11•2 years agoI think it’s nice to actually have human-scale communities. On reddit, you never or rarely ever talked with a person - you know?
cavemeat ( @cavemeat@beehaw.org ) English4•2 years agoThat’s exactly my thoughts. On reddit, it always felt like you were yelling into the void.
GeneralRetreat ( @GeneralRetreat@beehaw.org ) English6•2 years agoIt does seem nice here. The only thing I’m a little uncertain of is the restriction on Community creation, but the staff seem to be very responsive to requests so that’s probably okay.
Mountainmohawk ( @Mountainmohawk@beehaw.org ) English4•2 years agoI like it so far as well. Once some apps get more fleshed out, that will be the next step. Figuring out which one I like most for browsing!
shortwavesurfer ( @shortwavesurfer@monero.town ) English2•2 years agoThunder for sure.
Mountainmohawk ( @Mountainmohawk@beehaw.org ) English2•2 years agoI downloaded a bunch and are trying them out. Wefwef is nice as I was a big time Apollo user.
I like Mlem as well, but wish there was a quicker way to get to the sidebar to see my individual subs.
nlm ( @nlm@beehaw.org ) English4•2 years agoWe really are here for a reason! We got to pick an instance after all, and this is where we want to be because it resonates with us. That’ll surely lead to a tighter friendlier place!
Pretty much perfect!
Well I already feel like a part of it as people here even had a introduction spot and that makes it feel real
nlm ( @nlm@beehaw.org ) English4•2 years agoYeah it’s a nice place with a nice bunch of people. Welcome btw :)
Thanks, as I said I feel good and welcome here 🥰
CarrierLost ( @CarrierLost@lemmy.one ) English4•2 years agoI’m not on Beehaw, but I feel the same. The interaction feels much more “real” here, for now.
Ignacio [he] ( @Ignacio@beehaw.org ) English3•2 years agoSmall instances are like small towns, almost villages. You know everybody and everybody knows you, which makes things easier to stay and harder when you need/have to leave. But good vibes are everywhere, and interactions area abundant.
I hope that Lemmy and Kbin (as services) will have many millions of users. But I also hope that no instance will have more than one million users, or even more than one hundred thousand users.
Lazycog ( @Lazycog@lemmy.one ) English3•2 years agoI’m not on beehaw but have really enjoyed the quality and level of conversation here. Way less toxic and the barrier to comment/post is so much lower thanks to having less throwaways and trolls. Thanks beehaw ❤️
