Interesting, considering Intel’s Linux support is often quite a bit better at launch.

Yeah AMD’s gpu support can be pretty good, but as an owner of two amd laptops I can say they arent nearly as on fire in this space. That said a lot of my bugs are mobile related so I imagine in a desktop setting where I dont have to worry about power saving as much it probably runs better.

Then again hasnt intel had some growing pains with their recent e and p cores?

Two recent posts of the same article, copying my comment here.

It’s a shorter article, so I might have missed it, but I’m assuming Steam Deck is included in those measurements. If so I’d imagine that bumps the numbers.

I wonder how much the steam deck has to do with this increase, as the steam deck uses AMD and runs Linux.

A lot. But in general the leap mostly is in part of Valve. Their work with CodeWeavers in developing Proton made gaming easy on Linux. And AMD always had open drivers, which allowed people to optimize them. So it’s a perfect marriage.
