- PerogiBoi ( @PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca ) 16•1 year ago
3! One for porn, one that was my main but then the instance got overrun by lunatics and got subsequently defederated by all the main instances, and this one
- CeleryFC ( @CeleryFC@beehaw.org ) 1•1 year ago
This sounds wild!
- sini ( @sini@lemm.ee ) 14•1 year ago
Two: First on world, but it was pretty laggy so I changed to lemm.ee. The entire experience is better.
- WFH ( @wfh@lemm.ee ) 4•1 year ago
Exactly the same!
I still admire and am super thankful to @ruud for all the time, effort and money he and his friends are pouring into trying to optimize world.
- CrypticCoffee ( @CrypticCoffee@lemm.ee ) 3•1 year ago
Same. Did it partly for my own experience, but also to move way and give new users and a chance to join us. :)
- Gulmar ( @Gulmar@lemm.ee ) 2•1 year ago
Exactly the same here!
- lakemalcom10 ( @lakemalcom10@lemm.ee ) 1•1 year ago
Pretty much same here. I couldn’t actually sign into the first one because I hadn’t put in my email. Now I’m on lemm.ee!
- heartlessevil ( @heartlessevil@lemmy.one ) 10•1 year ago
Two because I instantly got banned from the first one
Why? what did you do?
- heartlessevil ( @heartlessevil@lemmy.one ) 16•1 year ago
I said that the lemmy.ml admins were marxist-leninists, I’m still unsure what was controversial about it
- Hizeh ( @Hizeh@hizeh.com ) 1•1 year ago
Hmmm
- SMSPARTAN ( @SMSPARTAN@lemm.ee ) 8•1 year ago
5 - one Beehaw, but after taking me 2 weeks to be accepted, I moved on to lemmy.world and now switched to lemm.ee since lemmy.world is having some problems with the huge influx of new users. Also have another one on lemmynsfw.com for…Well… Reasons. I also have one on Kbin, altough I don’t really use it since 99% of my Lemmy/Kbin browsing in on Android and I don’t know of any KBin apps as of now, besides, I think I’ll just settle down on lemm.ee for now.
- WigglingWalrus ( @WigglingWalrus@lemm.ee ) 7•1 year ago
Two. One for lemmy.world but then due to the issues, moved to lemm.ee which is my current main.
- abejfehr ( @abejfehr@lemm.ee ) 2•1 year ago
I did the exact same
- ofespii ( @ofespii@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 5•1 year ago
3 so far… but it’s mainly trial and error.
Started off with Lemmy.ml then wanted a bigger instance.
Moved to Lemmy.world then ended up having too many users and lagging.
So I moved to a good compromise: Lemmy.blahaj.zone
But yeah. Three so far with the exact same username 😬
- skunch ( @skunch@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 3•1 year ago
I’m on Lemmy.blahaj.zone because my lgbt wife loves blahaj and I figure it will make her more comfortable when she eventually moves to Lemmy. Don’t feel the need for another instance.
- Atiran ( @Atiran@lemm.ee ) 5•1 year ago
Well, I just joined today, so only one. But since you can subscribe and post to communities on any other instance, I’m not sure why I would need to sign up on another unless I wanted to change. That’s what makes the fediverse amazing.
- Fractalfarmer ( @Fractalfarmer@reddthat.com ) 5•1 year ago
Only one, I was tempted to sign up to another but I only just about got a nice mix of subscribed communities on this one and don’t have the patience to go through it again. I don’t really see the point, either, unless you are signing up to a second one that isn’t federated with your current one.
Also, shout out to ReddThat.com, absolutely zero glitches or issues so far except for those that seem to be fediverse wide. Good place to be with good people.

There’s this tool that allows you to automate that process: https://github.com/wescode/lemmy_migrate
- Dee ( @Dee_Imaginarium@beehaw.org ) 4•1 year ago
Three. Beehaw for main, Lemmynsfw for obvious reasons, and decided today that my lemmy.world account that I had before Beehaw is going to be used for shit-posting/memes. It’s just the meme communities are so active it drowns out any other communities. I can’t keep the memes while also seeing news, art, writing, games, etc.
- Terevos ( @Terevos@lemm.ee ) 4•1 year ago
6 or 7…I kinda lost track.
Most were to evaluate the best instance.
One or two were just to force manual federation sync of a community I moderate.
- SmokeInFog ( @SmokeInFog@midwest.social ) 4•1 year ago
One
- Southrydge Freedom ( @Southrydge@vlemmy.net ) 3•1 year ago
Just one, I’m glad I’m able to interact with all instances from this account, I think if I felt I had to make so many accounts I’d get overwhelmed and quit lemmy
- UdeRecife ( @UdeRecife@geddit.social ) 3•1 year ago
More than 10. I’m still waiting the confirmations from some of the instances.
I read some weeks ago that lemmy instances are like email providers. So I’ve taken to hear the advice that I should try different instances before settle into one. It has also been part of my lemmy leaning process. I won’t recommend it, though.
I have accounts on 3 different instances.
