Hi Bees! I have another hrt related question. Some time ago I have started having random pains in pelvis. And the question is can it be pelvic changes? I have heard that if started young enough hrt can widen the hips, but I not that long on hormones, so I dont know if it might be it? Will be thankful for any help. On hormones for about 4-5 months, 19 year old

Been on estradiol for just under a year now, started at 19. I also got hip pains surprisingly early on, that with chest soreness and very frequent hot flashes.
The hip pain definitely goes from mildly irritating to really fuckin noticable, but that’s also cause I’m particularly sensitive to sensory shit.
So hip pains as far as my uneducated opinion goes are totally normal, as long as it’s not like excruciating pain.
You’re doing great hon, the first 6 months are definitely a wild ride <3

FWIW, I recall having some pelvic pain relatively early when starting hormones at age 25. I thought that was supposed to be too late for pelvic bone changes, so I’m not totally sure what the pain was about. I do think even if nothing bone wise changes, the way fat and muscle is distributed on your body changes enough to cause pain almost anywhere.

Don’t get your hopes up that hip pain is growth. Even if your hips grow (which might be possible at your age but not likely) it’s probably not gonna hurt. I’ve been on hormones for 20 yrs now, lots of amazing changes, but not in your skeleton.
Sadly I cant find much of a definite awenser backed by science about such stuff :c. But if it was it Id so happy

Hip plates generally start fusing late teenage years and end early adult years, so 15-16 and 20-25 respectively. Hip pain is almost certainly due to growth/change of structure, but I think it’s important to not put too much stock or hope into any huge changes in case your genetics just don’t have that in the cards for you.
I think I may have good genes, coz hormones work on me quite quickly, but that may just be wishful thinking 😅
