I’m one of the weirdos buying into the hype of black midi, BCNR and Squid as well. Give them a shot. black midi is probably the most experimental of the bunch.
There’s also Interpol, Arcade Fire, The National: the usual suspects. Dismemberment Plan, The Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree. Some more recent indie rock: Pinegrove, Hop Along, Indigo de Souza.
Your mileage may vary, of course, but they’re some of my favorites.

Yes me too! I see it as an improved version of TBHC, some kind of mix between it and AM. My fave in this period is Body Paint, it’s just the right mix of energy and relax
