Chaotic Entropy ( @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk ) English24•7 months agoI have 200 unsaved notes just waiting in the memory guillotine for when something accidentally wipes them. I salute you, Notepad++.
magikmw ( @magikmw@lemm.ee ) 8•7 months agoIt’s so bad but so good. It’s like a poweruser variation of keeping important stuff in the recycle bin.
Chaotic Entropy ( @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk ) English3•7 months agoWhite knuckle, tightrope note taking. I just do it for the rush.
magikmw ( @magikmw@lemm.ee ) 2•7 months agoIf you can’t lose all your work in a freak data corruption incident are you even working?
✂⚋⚋⚋⚋ clb92 ⚋⚋ ( @clb92@feddit.dk ) 4•7 months agoI’ve restored my N++ session of unsaved notes from backup more than once.
krash ( @krash@lemmy.ml ) 16•7 months agoNPP is indispensable, it is the Windows killer-app.
Congrats on the release!
onlooker ( @onlooker@lemmy.ml ) 9•7 months agoCongratulations to everyone involved! I don’t use Windows anymore, but when I did, NPP was one of the first things to get installed. Super useful.
SeedyOne ( @SeedyOne@lemm.ee ) 6•7 months agoStill the best, can’t believe it’s been 20 years.
grandel ( @grandel@lemmy.ml ) 6•7 months agoI’ve switched from NPP years ago. Can somebody please explain why it’s so popular?
m-p{3} ( @mp3@lemmy.ca ) 5•7 months agoIt’s snappier and more private than VSCode at the very least.
Azzy ( @AzzyDev@beehaw.org ) 3•7 months agoidk why people don’t just use codium instead
IrritableOcelot ( @IrritableOcelot@beehaw.org ) 2•7 months agoBecause of the snappiness – codium is no faster than code. For me, NPP is used for making single-word changes to a bunch of files in a row–like vim, but a GUI.
numbermess ( @numbermess@beehaw.org ) English5•7 months agoI used Crimson Editor before I found Notepad++ and I can’t believe it’s been that long. Cheers to 20 years!
