  • As an electrical engineer (electronics and medical focus), moving to Europe is NOT easy. They will not hire anyone not already living in the EU or coming out of the EU university system if you aren’t. Work visas are too much work for companies in many countries here. It is quite competivie here now in the shit job market too, so your only change is either do your masters here or risk everything moving for 90 days to a country with no work visa needed for your country (Netherlands is one I think) and pray that you can get a job for a work visa before it expires.

If you are looking at power electronics, look into motor driver manufacturers. Make an FOC BLDC driver for a portfolio project, a solar inverter, some specific-use power distribution (buck, buckboost, 3-phase VRM) modules, etc… Companies want concrete proof that you know how to do your job.

A LOT of jobs (likely like your internship) around energy are very very slow moving jobs that are more paperwork and meetings than engineering.

Look at engineering consulting companies. They are good for building up a breadth of experience for future jobs. Ones that are in-house engineering (not rented out engineers) are best for this.

Look at the companies that actually make the modules inside electrical boxes, industrial electronics, solar inverters, and see if they have any engineering divisions where you are looking and you can always do open applications to them.

The job market is the worst now in decades. I wish you the best of luck! Let me know if you need advice for anything else.

  • We need to solve carbon emissions 20 years ago.

Why not heavily subsidize European solar, especially inverters while at the same time importing from China, especially solar cells and grid storage?

Why is every one of these proposals “let’s fuck over the whole planet in order to prop up businesses that have lobbied us?” And never “let’s have the best of both worlds”?

If they are worried about security, how about heavy subsidies for EU chipmakers to make and sell their chips in the EU. Currently, most of the fab capacity is in east Asia for chips needed for solar (ST, NXP, Nordic, and infineon). Many of them have a ton of fab capacity in the EU still, luckily, but all of their distribution goes through America and China. Even their own stores on their websites are not sold in the EU.

Except NXP, the dutch chip giant, which has the vast majority of their capacity in east Asia AND all of their chips are distributed through Asia and america(so the Dutch being hypocritical yet again).

Of how about, actually building and using unified, open source software platforms that connect locally to inverters and distribution components instead of relying on the cheapest ready-made manufacturer software? Oh wait, they don’t want to do that. That would require actual work and funding and not just grandstanding and writing a tariff on a piece of paper and letting the “poors” get fucked by it.

I would bet ant amount of money that he has been bribed lobbied to speak on this by fossil fuel energy companies and auto companies. This is literally just a ploy to slow down renewable building and justify keeping energy prices sky high.

How about requiring fucking parasite datacenters to actually offset their massive energy and building costs that we have to subsidize with energy infrastructure projects?

It is never that, it is just grandstanding bullshit that harms everyone except the lobbyists, what a coincidence.

  • Well 10 mk8 really. I think it comes from their camera lines.

Is it really worse than iPhone XS Max or iPhone Pro Max?

Or Galaxy S26/S26+, S26 FE, S26 Ultra for just slight variations of the same phone

Or Galaxy S II Epic 4G touch?

Or Motorola Moto G that is 4 different phones, all with the exact same name.

Or HTC One, One X, One X+, One XL, One V, One VX, One S, One Mini

Large brands are hilariously bad at naming lol. I think it is the probably 200+ meetings they have about the name.

  • Who needs to process the camera data? Again, it is a very different technology from all of the comparisons because it is literally taking out the need for large bodies of human oversight. Data collection vs data processing.

A camera does not decide who lives and who dies. An LLM can (and has) decided who lives and who dies and can carry out the execution orders itself.

But I guess cameras aren’t starving people of water and power and a required prerequisite to their use at scale.

But you’re right. LLMs aren’t evil at all, they are just a tool. The next defining tool that fascists now need to subjugate everyone and eliminate resistance.

  • I can answer one of the questions.

How does using a computer program do this?

Maybe not in the way OP is thinking, but it does massively help control us and here is how:

Fascism always had one huge flaw that prevented it from ever fully working: data. 1920s Germany was quite efficient at this, but they still had literally thousands of people listening, spying, reporting on, and processing data into threats that the SS would deal with.

That is simply too much data for humans to sift through and not miss a fuck ton of things, leading to resistance movements gaining a lot of ground.

AI solves this problem in that a few data centers can process spying data (and much more of it from the surveillance devices almost every person has in their house right now) fairly close to real time. That is a game changer. That is why the technofascists are pushing AI so hard to speed up development. It is essentially the best large scale pattern recognizer in the world and the manpower it takes to run that system is extremely small. That is why palantir is getting its claws in everywhere. Governments want that, whether for good or evil.

AI is a game changer for authoritarians. Or course, they would have to use it well still to be effective, but for example Palantir is building AI-only kill chains where targets are identified based on large data ingest, located, and then drones can be sent to kill them. That can happen in minutes or hours instead of the weeks or months it would traditionally take and resistance leadership is a finite resource.
