My read of those graphs is that coal (and lignite) have both been going down and will likely continue to do so. Natural gas has been constant, it does not appear to replace the reduction in coal.

Multiplayer games in Civilizations VI take much longer to load on Linux Mint than they used to on Windows. Multiple minutes now vs about half a minute previously. Once loaded it’s fine, no noticable differences between old and new. The longer loading times do become quite annoying when we need to reload/reconnect due to networking issues.

It’s going great. A bit of a learning curve at the start, but nothing difficult. I had a few minor issues along the way, but it’s all worth it, because I no longer get bothered by all the annoyances of Windows. My device is now managed, updated, etc by me instead of big tech that doesn’t serve my interests, feels much better.

Niet zo verrassend wel jammer. Het was al de verwachting met het vertrek van Rutte die veel EU-ervaring had, maar deze partijen hebben het wel heel bond gemaakt. Gelukkig waren ze dan wel weer zo incompetent dat ze niet veel actief hebben kunnen slopen.

My experience is that all the things software you listed works on Linux Mint. Both the operating system and the programs were easy to install. With the exception of Proton Drive. There is no Linux version afaik and the third party software I tried did not fully sync everything. I’m still looking for a solution.

Good, big tech already has their fingers in too many aspects of our lives. I do not want them to have access to my financial data.

Some estimates claim that (life) science produces about 2% of worldwide plastic waste even though only 0.1% of the population works in this industry. I’m not sure how accurate these estimates are, but I find them believable considering how much waste I see every day in labs. On the upside, this waste usually stays in contained systems and doesn’t end up in the ocean.

I wonder what the numbers are like in the context of someone’s total energy consumption. I guess cycling would still be much more efficient because it doubles as exercise.

I think it’s worth noting that Copenhagen doesn’t only have good cycling infrastructure, but also a relatively young and fit population, a population that has grown up cycling, a good public transport network leading to a completion of public transport vs ebike instead of car vs ebike, and it’s very flat. For many people, an ebike can be the difference between a workout vs a regular commute. It might be just what they need to leave their car at home (or not have a car at all)

My view is that it’s not necessary to pit regional identity vs European identity. I think it’s possible to have them side by side. I appreciate many things in my region that make up our identity, but at the same time as a European I can also appreciate many cultural aspects of other regions
