That makes sense. There’s been an enormous amount of meditation work done over the centuries, in the Euro-American world we tend to be unaware of it. I kinda feel like I should encourage you to seek out meditation centers and temples. But if what you’re doing works for you, then awesome.

Is there a principled reason why you do not consult with other meditators, or did it just work out that way?

I have mixed feelings about this issue.

On one hand, what you’re saying makes a lot of sense.

On the other hand, some of my fave posts are from reposters, like BilSabab on !smorgasbordbizarre@lemmy.world, LadyButterfly on !nicememes@sopuli.xyz (and others), neuracnu on !trailers@lemmy.blahaj.zone, and m_f on !garfield@lemmy.world. In the first two cases there’s a fair amount of curation, but in the second two cases less so.

So I guess my concern is that “restricting those kind of accounts completely” too enthusiastically might zap my fave reposters.

!spooky_memes@lemmy.world is providing an interesting example of multi- vs single-poster patterns on a community environment. About a month ago several of us started posting like 1-2 months per week, mostly older memes. Then about a week ago a new account started posting multiple posts a day, several days a week, mostly videos, and since then they’ve been the only poster. (They did make one post, “What horror movie is your favorite?”, that got a lot of comments!)

Context: I know very little about Resident Evil the game, I watched this movie bc I was with my cousin who plays it. I’m not a huge fan of horror movies tho I like them as B Movies.

I thought the movie was all right. The horror elements focused on body horror, jump-scares, and apocalyptic imagery. Nothing wrong with that, tho my fave horror films (like: Nope, Videodrome, and Sinners) usually have a little something more. It had kinda the feel of a game i.e. various stages and certain sound effects, which was kinda entertaining. It was like a really well-rendered playthrough, which I was OK with. I thought the ending was pretty good: I got that it was a “this is how my night started vs this is how it’s ending” kinda vibe. Anyway it was not a classic but it was also not a B-movie.

Yeah, my friend was a film major, I remember going with them to movie theaters or watching films on VCR. It wasn’t that bad. Look at what the corporations want to make us do in the name of “convenience”.
