I think they were talking more about its social role – a “good enough” language trundling along while trends come and go, used mostly by institutions who aren’t primarily about software development.
Not the design of the language itself.
I’ve heard it argued that Python is “modern COBOL”… 😅

Looking at it more critically than I have before, I’m intrigued by the change in the window patterns every ~10 floors and the top. I wonder what that signifies? Are those lobbies or observation decks or something? 🤔
