Every accusation is an admission, all the ruckus about Hunter Biden and Ukraine now turned into crickets.
For a better lemmy experience, remember to block lemmy.ml , lemmygrad, and hexbear.net . On mbin, use URL spec /d/\ and block. Or since that doesn’t seem to work, just block their communities whenever they pop-up.
Moved on to the better fediverse platform, mbin, avoid lemmy instances: https://github.com/jointhefediverse-net/jointhefediverse.net/blob/main/README.md (scroll to bottom)

The Internet is living on borrowed time.

Talking about a day in the stock market is akin to cloud spotting. It takes a continued and drastic trend, not just some eye raising numbers taken out of context. As much as I would be quietly gleeful for news like this because then it would mean actions have consequences, news articles often jump the gun with single digit changes that are reverted the following day. And if you look at the markets, European markets are getting hit as hard - what’s the cloud spotting rationale there? This and YT influencer feeds jumping the gun about how big Trump opposition is when the truth is it really isn’t materializing to the level it needs to be are my biggest pet peeves that make me just want to turn my head sometimes. I don’t want to hear what makes me feel good, I want to hear about news that really reflects reality.

“It’s ok, only the nice computer simulations helped us make this movie, not the bad ones!”

As long as they are with him. His critics will have their taxes looked at with magnifying glass and maybe a pen to get creative with.

“It really hasn’t. Also, these are some reasons why it has.” It is literally their whole spiel and what keeps them on the radar, even if the popularity of the platform isn’t what it used to. Which makes sense, since they don’t actively advertise or force their platform but they’ve also been subject to negative press such as their handling of the Devotion devs and "many gamers"in their efforts to prioritize the success of Cyberpunk 2077 over any potential fallout in the region.
You run on an ideological platform, you lose people on ideological grounds, like incorporating titles and forms of DRM into the storefront. Indies can default to whatever storefront they want, that’s should be the norm. Mohjang did it to great success.
Being effectively forced to do it on Steam, that’s basically a statement about their effective monopoly. Your accumulated Steam library is basically an ever increasing sunk cost fallacy, although to the credit of Valve they haven’t acted like massive dickheads (yet). But that will change with time because the people who lead companies change over time whether they would have wanted it or not.

It hasn’t helped GOG? News to me.

So he’s going to keep having kids until he’s eventually able to Neuralink them to like him?

Make up bullshit reasons when people post from or about a certain thing, and people will only think you are nutty instead of actively suppressing content. The fun benefit of doing this is that you can even do it when a community has more members of the type you want to suppress, you just do it occasionally and statistics slowly allow the content to be herded to where you are leading it. Troll factories love this one trick, as it is indistinguishable from actual power tripping mods.

Did they try removing DRM and selling you a product instead of an option on a subscription service?

Implying they already have it from Google’s side.

Musk sold around half of his shares in 2024. That’s when he actually makes his money, and this year is when he would have had to pay taxes on it. Musk may already realize his Tesla business is over, he’s just focusing more on cashing out and having that money be worth more now.
However, like the article says, he’s still getting a sweet deal out of this as states will continue to receive “reimbursement of existing obligations” and Tesla was their key recipient. It will affect his competitors more than it does him, and he will be in government when or if a new deal has to be made. It affects the competitors specially because they would be the ones the states that did not immediately accept Tesla’s offer would have been considering. Now, they no longer have those funds to offer while the deals with Tesla that would have gone through because they were the first offers will still get reimbursed.

Then don’t, it’s basically stochastically emergent, no genius required.

This follows a pattern of Trump trying to undermine the concept of the European Union without directly going after the European Union. This sort of statement sounds like bullshit to the sort of people who don’t need to realize it’s bullshit, but unfortunately it captivates and allures the attention of bigots everywhere who until now had to remain to keep to themselves in our societies. It follows the larger trend of radicalizing and creating cults of useful idiots, and the US under Trump will likely be used as a platform to attempt to drive it into Europe to attempt to dismantle the EU as he continue to shift to more imperialistic and militaristic approach to world politics.

Because the mod they share locked it to force a move to the lemmy.world one: https://kbin.melroy.org/m/196@lemmy.blahaj.zone/t/676055/WE-ARE-MOVING-TO-LEMMY-WORLD
But this is a prime example that mods are not their community, which is why I believe users should be able to choose their preferred or alternate moderators when participating in a community.
The fact is, banning X is free political points. The moment a country does it, it will domino into other countries doing it as well, and they will be seen as having been the leader and first of the movement. They should make sure users know of the federated alternatives before they do so, though.
