I’m a bit confused. I read this as “passwords are fine” followed by “passwords are fundamentally dangerous”. The author talks about Ebola and hand washing, and somehow that being a good analogy for password hygiene. I don’t think people willingly designed Ebola into their systems.
Passwords suck, but so far there hasn’t been something that can fully replace them. We should keep looking.
As a cis gendered straight person, reading the news has shown to me that trans people need allies. I have trans friends, and they generally don’t talk about these sorts of experiences. Hearing others stories helps build empathy, and makes it easier for me to understand some of the subtext of the things my friends do say.
