rpg@ttrpg.network•Rules-light TTRPG for 8-12 players (including GM)
2·4 months agoI assume board games are not an option? I’ve played Salem with probably 10 players and it’s quite fun. It will take much less than 6 hours though.
But I don’t want to leave just challenging the question without suggestions, so I’ll ramble on…
I’m thinking very quick character creation (if anything because I have players who are unable to take less than an hour doing so), perhaps something like Mothership or pretty much any PbtA. Or pregens.
Spotlight time will be an issue, so a something with very fast combat mechanics should be very important.
I’m pondering if it’s worth a shot trying something like Dread, but I’m not sure if 6 hours is too long for a game like Dread.
I’m curious: do the 12 of you (+GM) usually play all at the same time?

1·5 months agoHuh. Didn’t pay much attention myself, but perhaps they meant to convey “availability” instead?
Kudos for mentioning Everyone is John.
And since I’m already typing a reply, I might as well link to another obscure RPG (that I haven’t played):

Out of the loop here. What are the recent scandals with Discord?
This is probably not what you’re looking for, but it reminded me of the fan-made Polybius scenario for Kult.
But even if its not what you need, it might be useful as inspiration:
Oh, and if you’re not familiar with the urban legend, give it a search on YouTube.

2·10 months agoSpeaking of old media… I was hesitant to recommend Carmilla, since I wasn’t sure you’d be looking for books (the most remarkable merit being that it was written before Dracula and even the invention of cinema), but TIL there is indeed a movie:

2·10 months agoCampaign Cartographer 3+ is indeed only available for Windows. Though I must say that I have it working under WINE just fine. YMMV, ofc.
That’s the main way it’s used, but there’s no limitation to use it in another way.
There are some styles suited for modern day maps. Or historical maps, such as the April issue of this annual:
https://www.profantasy.com/annual/2022/2022-cartographers-annual.asp
And with Cosmographer and a few annual issues included, there’s plenty of SciFi styles to choose.
They have a YouTube channel where they stream a mapmaking session, you get to see quite a few styles:
This is an almost-everything bundle. For those unaware, every month they release a style, tool or guide and the 12 months make up each Annual Volume.
This page showcases everything in the latest of the included annuals:

1·1 year agoWell it’s fixed now… so I didn’t even get to clear cache and retry. But I did try opening on another browser (before writing my comment above) with similar results.
I want to be able to report a bug to the developers, but I have no idea what to tell them that might be useful. I guess I can dive into their issues tracker and take it from there.

1·2 years agoNot sure that’s the case, as I was browsing on this instance.
But… I did notice this issue just after I was trying to upload an image with “too many pixels”… maybe I was being throttled because of that?

Pretty much every image in the instance is replaced with:
https://ttrpg.network/static/c15a0eb1/assets/images/broken-image-fallback.png
You can algo get it at DTRPG:
https://legacy.drivethrurpg.com/product/514360/KULT-Divinity-Lost--Quickstart-Rules-FREE-PDF

I tried “buying” the whole bundle at DTRPG but I can’t see anything added to Roll20 nor Demiplane.
Anyone else experiencing this? Maybe it just takes some time?
I do have the proper accounts linked.
