I think majority of the people have been realizing this lately. Particularly, of good functional and privacy respecting apps. However, if a service started off as free for all from the start like youtube and twitter, that’s where there is gonna be trouble in introducing long time users in a paid format. With youtube, I’m in the same boat as it is being worthy of a monthly subscription. With twitter on the other hand, i am aware of it’s tool as a realtime updates on current events, just not that into it having rate limiter and subscription payment for being verified. I dunno, I think it’s more of a gimmick rather than a tool now. I hope somebody corrects me of my opinion of twitter, cause I just don’t see any value to it anymore. I’d rather brands and people more to mastodon.
