An update to Google’s privacy policy suggests that the entire public internet is fair game for it’s AI projects.

      • Trust me - Google will be sued. The only question is which side will have the persistence to outlast the other as lawyers burn a hole in their bank account? I can’t see anyone winning this lawsuit, it will be like Google vs Oracle - appeal after appeal after appeal until one side gives up.

Ironically, the person in the best position to sue was Elon Musk… could’ve tried to get $30,000 in statutory damages for each tweet Google copied… or more realistically, a settlement to pay off all Elon’s debt.

But of course, Twitter has gone dark. So that’s out the window.

    • It’s that they know that it’s more profitable to seek forgiveness than to ask permission.

Get sued? Hah; okay see you in court in ten years. Meanwhile, profit. They can do it over and over and it will always be beneficial.

There needs to be SEVERE sanctions for these violations. Like in the millions. That’s the only way they’d stop. They just don’t care at all.
