Techpriest ( @Techpriest@lemmy.ml ) English10•2 years agoI was going to replace a top on a convertible but had never done something that involved before. I found two channels that showed top replacement for the specific year an model. The first with several thousand subs was in English and had instructions like “OK, remove the valence panel”, then skip to the panel lying on the ground… Where are the bolts and clip points so I don’t break them??? Second channel had one or two subs and spoke no English but he took the camera and pointed at every bolt and clip location and communicated everything I needed to get it done.
ComradeSharkfucker ( @sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml ) English9•2 years agoThank you Ahmad for fixing my obscure Linux error

grysbok ( @grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org ) English6•2 years agoA lovely southern USA gentleman showed me how to rejigger the video cable in my laptop (it had gotten pinched and was flickering intermittently). He also gently chidded the other video showing how to take apart the same laptop for doing it the hard way. The other video was a wonderful descent into cursing.
Black_Gulaman ( @Black_Gulaman@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) English5•2 years agoBless them.

Judgy_McJudgerson ( @Judgy_McJudgerson@lemm.ee ) English2•2 years agoThank you to the 2 minute video that helped me prove to my boyfriend that tidepods do not belong in the washing machine’s soap container. …. And for informing me that I should have been putting them in first and not on top. 😅
2D_ ( @2D_@beehaw.org ) English2•2 years agoEvery time. Super clutch, as my handiness around the house is pretty much “Is there a YouTube video?”, then I’m good.
Started a vegetable garden this year and learned tons. Too bad it’s (yt) ran by a shit company and I have to have an account to show support for content creators outside of like a Patreon or buymeacoffee type thing.
Whey Isolate ( @Whey_Isolate@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) English2•2 years ago“I want to get into amateur radio, I sure wish there was a video that intuitively explained the fundamental workings of frequency modulation and RF transmission”
Some guy in his basement in Bangladesh with a circuit board and a notepad: FellowHuman ( @FellowHuman@lemmy.ml ) English1•2 years agoI owe my thanks to all the indian tutorials on math and algorythms, that were still better at explaining the problem than my proffesor, even though half of the tutorial was in hindy.
Mudflap ( @Mudflap@lemm.ee ) English1•2 years agoThis was me today trying to figure out how to set up a dedicated server for Sons of the Forest. Busted mic man blew threw everything but that 6min tutorial was immensely helpful in helping me install everything before I broke my modem by tweaking the static ipv4 settings 👍
