Cute little fella, soon as he spotted me he lifted up and stayed like that, motionless, looking at me as if I were rather sus!
And one more of him, eyeing my very suspiciously, lol
Enfield [he/him] ( @nfld0001@beehaw.org ) 8•1 year agoAbsolutely cute critter you have in your yard there. Looks like the little dude has a delightful kingdom to roam around in 👑.
kajko ( @kajko@beehaw.org ) 7•1 year agoThat’s adorable! Does anyone know what kind it is?
memfree ( @memfree@beehaw.org ) 9•1 year agoGarter snake. Probably a common ribbon snake but it could also be a Northwestern garter or one of several similar garters.

BoomBoom ( @AmyJ5000@lemmy.amyjnobody.com ) 3•1 year agoDoes he think that you think that he is grass/greenery/(what is that, sedum?)? Silly snek.
DavidP ( @DavidP@toast.ooo ) 3•1 year agoNice! Snakes are a sign of a healthy, chemical-free environment.
farlateal ( @farlateal@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoSo cute! I’ve only seen snakes out and about a few times and it’s always such a treat. I’d love to find a way to make my yard more hospitable for them, but I’m sadly surrounded on all sides with neighbors who spray their lawns and keep them all super short.
