I might be in the minority, but I generally prefer to wait and avoid early access, beta, etc. Whenever I participate, I get burned out before the final game releases, so I don’t get to enjoy the complete artistic vision.
I had that issue with Hades 1. I’ve been following supergiant for a long time now so I bought in early access when it was only the first two areas. I got burnt out and tired of waiting and ended up ditching the game for like a year before coming back, after all my friends were playing it and telling everyone to play it when it fully released lol
I remember being so insanely jazzed and proud that I got into the closed beta for SWTOR like VERY early. Wasn’t so fun when the game launched and I was already burnt out on it. lol
To be fair, they didn’t address a lot of the main criticisms from beta so the game predictably sunk into “Free to play” hell not too long after. Shame, it had a lot of potential.
Point is, I specifically did not sign up for this beta for the same reason as you. I think this one is worth waiting for.
I feel the same. Games where the story is in focus I rather play the finished version instead of getting bits and pieces here and there.
Nice, hopefully they pick randomly for those of us at work coming home to the news. 😅
Steam seems to be down right now. Wonder if Hades is so popular that it crashed Steam. :-D

Steam goes down for maintenance at this time every week.
