no, the article isn’t clickbait if it accurately paraphrases a source in a tone you disagree with

no, it’s not ragebait if reading it made you angry and you wish it wasn’t true, but it very obviously is

    good talk, thanks

  • What a blessed world we live in - 2014 a homeless person had to learn to code in order to deserve the things they need to live. Today, they just need to become a prompt engineer. The trajectory of the world bends towards justice, after all!

My trajectory of learning about this Newsom fellow was amazing.

    • First heard of him existing when some Very Serious People were floating him as a replacement for Biden like two months ago
      • Infer from that that he’s progressive maybe?
    • Like right after that a big story how he forcefully cleared homeless encampments like a fucking cartoon villain
      • So he’s actually a weird little conservative in disguise?
    • Now this fucking nonsense.

How do you keep producing people like this, America?

    • For links to California AI primary sources there was only:

      • A link to the press release
      • A link to the policy paper
      • A link to the executive order
      • A link to the Joint California Summit on Generative AI website
      • A link to a press release from the Joint California Summit on Generative AI
      • A link to a youtube video from the Joint California Summit on Generative AI
      • A link to the press release about a CA / Nvidia AI collaboration
      • A link to the blockchain executive order

So poorly cited! Mr. Gerard don’t you know that if it’s not in video form it doesn’t exist for people raised on TikTok?? SMH.

truly, without your timely help we would have been at sea, unable to find veracity in the words of the yon governer gavin newsom, be they branded on the scriptures of office or no! oh woe betide us should your clear insight into this most nebulous matter not have come our way this fair day!

now please get back the fuck on the road where you came from and keep your idiotic opinions to yourself. or, y’know, learn to read. both work

Man, what a shit take this is. Spent two seconds on the press release. This is what they want to accomplish: "Creating housing with more data and accountability by creating clearer insights into local permitting and development decisions and deploying tools to support every community in building enough homes for all its residents, including vulnerable populations. "

And two seconds on the “nonsense generator can’t fix homelessness, how do we actually do it?” take: “To improve housing affordability, California needs to streamline and accelerate housing production and reexamine the regulations that have hindered new housing development.”

This is bullshit rage bait. I mean, can “GenAI” do this well? IMO no, but the idea of trying to solve the root problems isn’t complete dog shit.

the title of the press release:

Governor Newsom seeks to harness the power of GenAI to address homelessness, other challenges

the paragraph right before the bullet points you quoted out of context:

State agencies and departments began analyzing potential uses for GenAI and developed critical challenges within state government, particularly focusing on issues that impact vulnerable populations. Today, the Governor announces the first step in the process to potentially adopt GenAI to address the following issues identified by state agencies:

it’s literally a press release about supposedly using the nonsense generator to fix homelessness and you had to reach fucking hard to make it look like anything else — you quoted the only two fucking paragraphs that don’t mention GenAI, I fucking counted. and for what?

the included fucking summary of the press release!

What you need to know: Governor Gavin Newsom invites developers to help create Generative AI (GenAI) solutions for some of the most challenging issues facing California and its 39 million residents, including housing and homelessness.

they wrote this bit so you didn’t have to read! what the fuck is wrong with you

fucking hell. it’s always this exact evil shit from these assholes, isn’t it? and every time they do this (and I’ve seen them do this same shit in my city over and over) they seem amazed when the unhoused people they’re victimizing don’t just fucking die like they hoped they would. instead they survive by any means necessary, like any person would; like any of us would. and every time it’s a fucking mystery to shitheads like Newsom why homelessness got “worse”

Important to note that their stuff is not only things like remaining photos of dead parents and relatives, but also medications and the documents required to get a job, both of which have to be replaced at taxpayer expense. But hey, we offered them a place in the five and a half year long wait list they were already on, so the government really is doing all it can.
