What I said was I found the fact that the documentary (the first I am hearing about, by the way) has the same name as a movie that already exists and that’s confusing.
I don’t know why this is hard to understand. If the documentary was named “The Art of the Deal” would that not be a little confusing? Maybe even a little off putting?
I was so curious to see if they’d fucking get it but no
their history of posting on Fuck AI and having one mid post here really made them think they could come in here, refuse to engage with the topic of the thread, and quadruple down on uhh the anti-AI documentary being unwatchable because it reminds them of a movie only they watched
they dug in so hard about it being that specific obscure movie that I’m pretty sure they were trying to derail the discussion into a weird argument instead of, you know, anything related to the documentary
The 1993 movie was kinda popular back in the day. I think y’all need to stop overthinking what they said and just take their actual words for face value because it is confusing if you actually knew about the 1993 film and saw this post’s title thinking that’s what they were showing.
I think you should reconsider posting in this thread unless you’re going to watch the documentary instead of continuing the same tedious shit that got the other guy banned
I only know about one movie, the 2016 biopic of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it on IMAX this Friday. (Weird that it’s suddenly in theaters again, I kind of thought it flopped, but see no need to investigate further.)
Most participants in this forum don’t repeat the same drivel non-argument that someone else already got banned for insisting upon after all possible humor value was extracted at their expense.
Seeing as we never explicitly litigated what happened and mostly just trolled the guy: I mean it would be one thing if the guy came in and made a joke about it sharing the name with another, unrelated movie. Like, ok, sure, whatever. But guy came in specifically criticising the title of a documentary. And acting like the movie was the sole owner of the title, which as was pointed out, was almost definitely taken from the name of a thought experiment. Things get named after other things all the time! It’s fine!
Like imagine this was an instance discussing sports and doping. And Gerard posted about the documentary “Icarus” being released on youtube. Then guy comes along getting pissed and confused that the documentary shares the name with “Icarus”, the seventh episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Guy should just get banned for being off topic. Instead we trolled him for entertainment.
Anyway no further responses from me, don’t really know why you’re going to bat for this guy, people have been banned for less
That’s not what I said.

anything to not have to turn on your brain and watch the fucking documentary this thread is about, I guess!
I just don‘t understand how this fucking guy kept doubling down on fucking nothing. Thanks for letting this continue for as long as it did
maybe it’s a bad part of me to encourage but i’ll be damned if I weren’t giggling the whole thread
Glad to play the clown and see where the clown car would go

Gotta admit I was sure they meant GiTS at first. Otherwise I would have gone with Maximum Overdrive or Lawnmower Man or something

most popular sci fi of 1993, how dare a philosopher name mind-body dualism after such a classic

How is it confusing??? Do you only know about two movies?

Most movies don’t share the same fucking name. 🤦♂️
They literally do.

Keyword here was most. Not never.

what? there are tons of movies that share the same name, that’s why you usually include a date
