Dude lived 50000 years ago and this quote still holds up so well; shows us we as humanity haven’t really advanced as much as we’d like to think
But…but…that’s when dinosaurs ruled the earth!
Nice Otto von Schirach reference ^^
My website’s domain name https://www.arscyni.cc/ is inspired by him and his fellow Cynics. Highly recommend their books written by Robin Hard.
“On observing how a young man was priding himself on his expensive cloak, he said, “Stop priding yourself on sharing in the good qualities of a sheep.”” ―Diogenes of Sinope (404–323 BC)
“People pray to the gods for good health, and yet most of them consistently act in such a way as to damage their health.” ―Diogenes of Sinope (404–323 BC)
To those who also feel remarkably amicable towards Diogenes/Epictetus, or any other Cynic, I’ve made an Ars Cynica chat group on Fluxer [a Discord lookalike, but superior and not corporate]. It used to have active members on Telegram but deleted it because the platform became bloated crypto crap.
“You’re a dog!”
“Oh, is that so?” Pees him as a dog would do
Can someone confirm this quote authenticity? I tried to find it on wikiquote but i can’t and i know no other place to find such quotes
