A lot of events have transpired on the matrix space. Plural beings, the unpronouned, and trauma suvivors have all felt unsafe in that space.
The mods are negligent and rarely interact with the community, and tend to mod and do desicions from “high seats” without context or discussion.

I understand, and I agree.
I guess I’m just lamenting the fact that fascists have gotten so goddamn good at using our empathy as a weapon against us. Shit is so broken when the only options are: to do the very thing that they want, and in doing so, possibly actively hurting a marginalized person or group, or to just ignore them entirely even if they’re actually acting in good faith (and maybe need someone to talk to).
Fucking sucks.
in practice, it’s not so hard. it looks just like respecting their identity, which they think is fallacious and worthy of ridicule, and that will usually be enough for them to crack after some time
fascists will be fascists, and they’ll think being kind and respectful to a troll is funny, but there’s not much else one can do about it. they were going to laugh anyways, so you may as well make the best of it
and sometimes, rarely, it can be what leads someone out of that mindset
