You know… The French Revolution of 1789 (!) decriminalized homosexuality in all of its terrorities, including its colonies. While the UK kept forcing its homophobic laws on its colonies and did not decriminalized homosexuality until 1992/1994. Meanwhile many states of the US still have sodomy laws on its books. Mock the French, but maybe not for that one.

Them being less depraved than the US and UK does not make them good.
