Everyone makes a big deal out of that as if most of it isn’t ml stuff like OP is talking about and/or stated upfront on Piefed’s website. Mastodon instances have other instances they don’t federate with too.
it is now. because people made a stink about it not being there. and even so it’s still not detailed. a few of the big things is stuff like ocr-ing every image post to figure out if it’s from a chan board, auto-hiding anything tagged with “meme”, adding a hidden second layer of “trustworthiness” scoring to every user independent of the score of their posts and comments which pushes them up or down the comment chain, and pushing/pulling those trustworthiness scores from a server periodically.
Idk about the tag thing. I do know of the chan board thing and I mean fuck those places, I don’t particularly mind. The trustworthiness score tho is different, pls do tell.
the only places chan board images show up here is in greentext communities so that’s already a curated feed. as for the score, details are here.
