Maybe I’m missing something but there doesn’t seem to be support for saving a draft of a comment. Also, if a comment fails to post, everything is lost. Is there anything that can be done about this?
I guess the same could be said for new posts as well.

this is probably a question for the devs of lemmy over on Lemmy Support rather than us. i don’t think there’s anything we can really do on our side of things about it
Thanks for the pointer! I’ll check out the GitHub issues for the Lemmy project first.
In the mean time, I’ve been getting a lot of 500 responses while using Beehaw. Is this to be expected or is this some growing pains due to Reddit killing 3rd party apps?

just growing pains from reddit traffic. it was worse yesterday but we’ve upscaled so they’re less frequent now and we just cycled the website now so hopefully that’ll get rid of the current set of errors happening

Oof, I just had a similar issue. Made a post about it before seeing this one.
I also lost a huge draft lol. Gotta make sure to copy my text before pressing submit so I can try pasting it back if it gets lost!
Are you also having “must log in” messages even though you’re already logged in? I keep having to check to see if I’m logged in or not (maybe a design feature needs to happen to show users that they are logged in by having an icon in the corner or something). I’m on mobile (Jerboa).
I haven’t experienced the must log in issue.
This is very much like 1990s internet. The many things that have been smoothed over by commercial interests over the years to reduce friction and annoyances are not easy to address upfront by volunteers.

I’m getting a variety of errors, some of them just look like code gibberish to me.
I’m sure it will all get smoother over time though, massive user influx is an understandable cause of issues.
Wonder what will happen in a month! :0
